Favorite ship and why?

Magic or Wonder. We've been on both 6 times each, Fantasy 2x, and Dream 3x. The smaller ships have longer itineraries. When you have a shorter itinerary, passengers are rushed to do everything and start being rude (IMHO).

We just finished our 6th Wonder and even cruise staff we interact with have similar opinions. Many prefer the slower pace of smaller ships.

The Magic. Prefer the smaller ships, Rapunzel>Tiana’s, Animators far better than on Dream class, adult/Cove area better than on Dream class, Palo is better, shawarma on the pool deck, and many great long-time CMs. Plus better itineraries (at least up until now - the Dream seems to be taking some of our favorites).

The Wonder. As was mentioned above maybe it's due to the longer cruises and the destinations (PC x 3 and Alaska x 3) but the service and interaction with the CM's always seems to be one step above the other ships. The other 3 have always been great, but there was always a little extra something on the Wonder. The fact that there are also fewer passengers is probably another reason for the difference.

Having been on all four classic ships, we prefer Magic, but your main focus should be on itinerary and pricing, not on the ship. All the ships offer different destinations and cruise length. Even if the ship is also a destination, its amenities will have much less of an impact on your enjoyment of the cruise than the other two things.

That being said, we prefer Magic because of Tangled (the musical, the diner show and the events on Tangle day), Animation Magic in AP and our favorite servers are on it.

Looks like some people might have their mind changed this next year when Dream goes to Europe with its longer itineraries.

I prefer the Fantasy/Dream because I find the little extra space gets you things like the simulators and mini golf. Plus I prefer the Adult pool area on those ships.

I will say if I am going to Alaska I am not doing it with Disney as they don't go to Glacier Bay (which you should do at least once) and they prices are crazy high. I will take the NCL Haven with exclusive 3 decks, private pool, private whirlpools, and a restaurant better than Palo for basically the same price as a Disney verandah.

The Dream. Beauty and the Beast, the Aqua Duck, Midship Detective Agency, miniature golf, hot tubs with a view of the ocean, magic portholes in inside staterooms, etc. The Fantasy comes in second because of her aft vibration issues. The Magic and Wonder are both beautiful and I like their adult pools, but I really like the Aqua Duck and Magic class doesn't have that. I love the decor of Animator's Palate on the Magic class, and Tangled is one of my favorite DCL shows.

I've sailed all of the ships (except the Wish) twice. The Wonder and Magic are my favorite. I like the itineraries better, the smaller size, and Animator's, Tangled, Tiana's. The Wonder was my favorite, but having just sailed it again last month, I realized that the Magic became my favorite after sailing the Transatlantic (2019) on it for so many days. It just feels like my home ship now. I also like the sideways inside rooms on the Magic and Wonder.

Wonder. She was my first ship. I think the service is better on the smaller ships. I do miss mini golf on the classics and wish they’d found a way to retrofit something.

I haven’t sailed her in a while but I’ll be back on her in December!

Magic. We were just on her last month and she was in immaculate shape and the food had definitely taken a step up. The staff on the Magic are fantastic (though this can be said of all the ships).

I like the D Lounge setup as well as the After Hours area. Having just been on the Wish as well, we preferred Fathoms to Luna for the shows like Match Your Mate.

Also, on the Magic and Wonder, the cabins are just a bit larger than they are on the Dream/Fantasy, and last but not least, there is a noticeable difference on Castaway Cay if you are on Magic/Wonder vs. any of the other ships…

Magic. Familiarity (most nights cruised). It and Wonder for the smaller ship size and more foot space in Walt Disney Theater. McGill’s Pub has more room for adult trivia than equivalent venue in Dream. M&W for sideways interior cabins with their location on 5 Forward.

Buena Vista Theater on Dream is more comfortable (and bigger?) than M/W. I prefer Enchanted Garden menu to Tiana’s, possibly Rapunzel’s.

M W D F all have Deck 4 outside Promenade.

I don’t utilize putt-putt, Kid’s clubs, dance parties, BINGO (have in the past), bars, coffee, Remy (done that).

But price, itinerary and dates are bigger considerations.

A 5-night Double Dip at Castaway Cay is one of my favorites. Even a 3-night with CC and a Sea Day is great. I would love to do Norwegian Fjords and/or Iceland, but that is out of my price range.

Reports on the Wish have lead me to book it for January. New menus, a bright, new decor (sort of castle meets conference center in the public areas). But swimming / watering holes with steps, not just ladders, in some of the pools. The movie theaters look pretty pathetic- more like a private viewing room seen in old movies. (Dream’s Buena Vista Theater got it right.). It may be my new favorite. I’ll know in 6 months.

The Fantasy... Why? Because it's the only one that I have ever been when we did our 7 night Western Caribbean cruise in 2019. The only miss for me was I'm a bit of a snob with food and was not a big fan of the MDR food and service; However, it did not ruin the experience for us. But we did love Remy and Palo. The atrium was impressive. And we sure did love the Rainforest as well. We will be doing our second cruise in December on the Dream for 5 nights.

Magic/Wonder

While we really enjoyed the Walt Disney Theater balcony seating, Midship detective agency and mini golf on the Fantasy, we prefer the Magic/Wonder adult areas. We found the smaller ships easier to navigate. Every time we walked aft on the Fantasy DH would say 'I hate this ship'. Those that have sailed the Wish complaining about finding things...that's how we felt on the Fantasy...it took me forever to find Meridian to do the Art of the Theme show tour...I didn't realize the aft elevators are IN Cabanas...and trying to get to the adult clubs...I finally just used the starboard promenade to get there quicker, lol. We usually sail for itinerary first... except for the Fantasy...glad we went on it, so we'll have an easier time finding things on our Dream Norwegian Fjords cruise next year!

Wonder, but Magic is a close second. I like the concierge lounge on the Wonder best, and I like Tiana’s better than Rapunzel’s. I also liked the Dream and Fantasy, but just generally prefer the vibe of the smaller ships. We’re doing the Wish B2B next month, and I’ll be surprised if my ranking changes.

Love the Wonder!

The Dream is a close second for our family, but our Dream experiences have been post-Covid when the ship was less than half full. The crew that restarted the Dream in late summer/fall 2021 was a really awesome group of CMs!

Wonder. Love Tiana’s and the corresponding French Quarter area, over the regular promenade of the Magic. It was also the first ship we sailed on, so she started our love of DCL.
