I'm looking for a change for the better. No more el cheapo shampoo for me! I tried the Garnier Fructisse shampoo and while they are ok, I'm not thrilled with it. Also, I think it's causing dandruff.

So what do you use and like?

I like Pantene and as a back-up I use Dove. I have short and very fine hair so I like something that makes it feel thicker.

Redken All Soft.
As I have gotten older and ::ahem:: a little grayer I find that it makes my hair looks less coarse.

That's funny--I came in here to say I don't like Pantene! I'm on the look out for something new myself.

I love how soft my hair feels when I use Dove shampoo and conditioner. :thumbsup2

I use salon stuff because I have TRIED everything and my hair is just too weird.

Anyway, I use Alterna Caviar. I use several different conditioners: Sebastian Body, Cibu Hue Nu, or ISO Hydrating.

I use to use L'Oreal Hydravive. That was the only store shampoo that worked well but they changed the formulation and I don't like it anymore.

My all time favorite is Aveda--I love the rosemary mint--the smell wakes me up in the morning.

However, my colorist told me I should not be using any shampoos with mint in it because it strips color from your hair (??). I am using Sugar products right now, at his behest. It's OK, but I miss my rosemary mint.

I am not loyal to any of my Shampoo's or Conditioner's - however, I am absolutely loyal to ONLY SALON BRANDS.

That being said - lets move on, shall we? ;)

Excellent stuff. Excellent. If you like All Soft, you will also like Goldwell's Kerasilk. Same premise - if you ever wanna change things up, a bit.

True - BUT if you had been using Rosemary Mint with no issues, what difference would it make? Aveda is a high end brand. You can pretty much bet on the fact Aveda's products arent going to be stripping anything on your hair. Theyre formulized much too well.

Now Jennasis - did you post in the look alike thread, wearing a red sweatshirt, and you have puffier bigger lips and I think you got a 'young Kathleen Turner' response? Was that you? If so - it looks like your hair is a bit thicker, and maybe wavy if you let it go?

If that was you - I would be going with a shampoo for curly hair - simply because it has more moisture. Ones I like: TiGi Curls Rock and Matrix Curl Life.

:)

I started growing my hair when I turned 40 - figured since I still have it - grow it!

I've become anal - I use Nexus Therappe Luxurious Moisturizing shampoo and Humectress Ultimate Moisturizing Conditioner is teh only conditioner I like.

I will also use Matrix Smoothing System Shampoo.

It's sick - I shaved my head for about 8 years cause I hated worrying about my hair... :rotfl:

Store-bought shampoos make my hair heavy and it's very fine to begin with, so with the added weight, it looks like it's greasy. I only use salon shampoos and with my well water I find that Biolage lathers up the best. I only tried one other shampoo and that's because my salon quit selling Biolage, and that was Paul Mitchell -- blech!:scared: -- didn't work in my water.

That's my product dujour, I alternate between All Soft and Fresh Curls

Anyway, I use Alterna Caviar..

I used that for about a year and it stopped working for me. But I did love it.

They have been my fall backl on for 20 + years. When all else fails.

I've tried salon shampoos and conditioners and found they didn't make any difference for me so I don't waste the money. I do find if I use really cheap shampoo like White Rain or Suave, it makes a difference. So I buy what I consider to be decent supermarket/drug store shampoos - L'Oreal, Dove, etc. The current favorite is Herbal Essence Hydralicious. Buy my DD is using Sunsilk and really likes it.

Matrix Biolage. I can use it every single day and it doesn't build up, plus it leaves my hair in great condition.

I buy it at BJ's, $20. for the huge bottle which lasts a long time, so it's not even that expensive in the end. I use the Biolage Conditioning Balm every few days or so.

Dove Shampoo & Conditioner - Cool Moisture - Cucumber & Green Tea Scent

LOVE IT!

I am also a fan of Redken's All-Soft.
I also use the blue bottles of Redken-damage remedy or something like that.

I was using Aveda products but they dried out my hair terribly.

Ummmm, I don't think that was me. I actually tried scouring my computer for a picture of me, but oddly enough, not a ONE! Lots of pictures of my horses though..

My hair is straight, and short (longer in front and shorter in back). My stylist says she loves my hair...???...I don't get it. I just want it soft and shiny!

I splurged and bought some All Soft conditioner and I really didn't like the way it made my hair feel. It did help it to stay straight (it has a slight, funky wave at times), but it almost made it feel like straw. :confused3

I think my hair looks its best when I use Infusium 23 shampoo and conditioner. Then again, I haven't tried many salon products (mostly Biolage, All Soft, and dang...the Paul guy brand).

That's how her hair cut was (this mystery woman Im speaking of!) it was at like a banquet or something? Whoever she was - was in the picture with another person (man, woman, child - Im not sure) But I know it looked banquetty.

Cut me some slack - I'll be 36 this year. My mind is mush. It's never had a good memory to begin with.... :lmao: :rotfl:

Is it THICK straight? or just straight?

The Curls Rock by Tigi might be too stong for NON thick hair, in the summer....but the Curl Life is really nice.

And keep in mind - even if your hair isnt curly - curly hair shampoo (same as shampoo for colored hair) is just more moisture.

This is my thing.... like I said - Im a salon snob with hair products, but I trust all of them to work. So, I go and sniff out which one I'm in the mood for. :) I just smell them until I find one I like.

You know what's a nice line - RUSK. Their Pure and their smoother are both REALLy nice.

I've always used the store bought stuff until my hairstylist turned me on to the Z-One Concepts hair products, specifically the Milk Shake shampoo. I have naturally curly(frizzy) color treated hair that has been transformed in three months to silky smooth. It's pricey but so worth it!:goodvibes
