What’s your favorite resort to stay at if you had no monetary restrictions and why? Just for fun to see what people like about different places!

POLY.
I love the atmosphere, decor, food options, proximity to MK, the monorail, and controversial I know but I actually like the Moana theme.

I also like CR.

For mods I like POR in the Royal Rooms.

Value I have always loved POP but not a fan of the prices since the Skyliner went in.
So for price I don't mind staying Movies or Sports.

But I will say since I stayed deluxe for the first time in 2019 I have become a bit of a monorail "snob" lol.

Grand Floridian is the prettiest in my opinion, but for us to stay we prefer Boardwalk. We just love the location. I do wish they'd up the game and add another restaurant.

My favorite resort overall is AKL and stay there often when we visit.

But no money restrictions: Poly, YC, and possibly Riviera. I'll only add GF if they bring back the GF Society Orchestra.

Only been to five... so far... but overall GF. But a large part of that was due to the discount. Same with Poly. Which I also wouldnt have stayed at otherwise. Both were split says however to keep the cost manageable. Others were both sections of PO, which to me were far enough apart to be different places, and also the Grand Destino tower. All had their positives and negatives. So money aside, so far, GF is #1 followed by Poly.

In truth however, as a general answer to your question, your own choice would also likely depend on the environment you are coming from to get away from it all. If you live in a pretty quiet and remote area then GF would be appealing. If an area of heavy traffic any of the monorail resorts. If suburbia, and you've never been to Hawaii (not including Honolulu) etc, then Poly.

AKV! Best restaurants on property. Where else can you get a savanna right off your balcony. Amazing architecture and scenery.

Our family fave is OKW. We love the quiet atmosphere, big rooms. We don't like the busy monorail resorts (really disappointed in POLY way too crowded with look-e-loos, pool was obnoxious and the studios are just a dumb layout) . We like POR for a moderate and Pop for the value.

Yacht Club, best pool on property, walking distance to two parks, Epcot and HS, boardwalk area, nice area to walk in the early morning around the boardwalk, good restaurants at YC/BC area plus boardwalk or easy walk to Epcot restaurants, skyliner available, CL has balcony to eat on if you want, wonderful CM’s and Lounge Management.

That is tough. We stayed at AKLV Kidani, and I found it very relaxing. The resort was dark early, so we went to be early. Most beautiful I would go with the Poly. If I could stay anywhere, WL or Beach Club. BC for the pool. WL for every other reason.

AKL, savanna view. I love sitting on the balcony and watching the animals. The resort itself is beautiful and the food's great. Added bonus: a very short bus ride to DAK, my favorite park.

It used to be CBR - it was my first and has held a special place in my heart. But I'm not a Skyliner fan, so I'm ISO a new fave.

The Poly - I really just love everything about it. I find it so relaxing. :goodvibes

Some of my favourite things…..
The Oasis pool
The Tambu Lounge
The tiki torches at night
The view of the MK

WL- because it’s so relaxing and beautiful
Fort Wilderness- I love to camp so this is the best of both worlds

Two favorites Yacht Club and Contemporary..The reason for the Contemporary is all about memories!!! Our oldest is now 34 and he was 3 when we first started going to Disney and the Contemporary was the first resort we stayed at. Iam retiring the end of this year and we will do a split stay with both resorts. Iam aware of the pool and the redo of the Yacht but we just love the area and I do like the full balcony versus the Juliet balcony at the beach… I did try the booking the Boardwalk but with the bounce back offer they were already booked…. But to tell you the truth, it doesn’t matter which resort you’re in as long as you’re at Disney… Life doesn’t get any better😊

We have stayed at almost all of the deluxe/dvc resorts plus Riverside, AOA and Pop. I have enjoyed every resort we have stayed at but really love being close to the parks, especially MK. I’d say WL and GF are my two favorite depending on the time of year. If the Xmas tree is up, WL is my favorite. Spring or Summer GF > than the WL for me. We also stayed at Bay Lake Tower last year and I love BLT/CR. The views of MK are awesome.

I’m typically not an Epcot resort person but we recently stayed at Boardwalk and loved that too. Love having the option to walk the Boardwalk early in the morning or a nice evening stroll. Wish they had a better quick service option, even just a Hurricane Hannah type menu would be great. My Dh and kids want their burger/nuggets/fries on vacation so we had to walk across the lake to get lunch each day.

AKL/Jambo, savanna view. No doubt in my mind.
Runner up goes to CSR tower.
Honorable mention to Boardwalk (but the lack of restaurant/qs here is a big drawback).

When staying at the MK then it's the Wilderness Lodge. If Epcot, then it's the Boardwalk.

If you had asked before Sept. I would have said YC. I hadn't stayed there in years and got a good discount so was there in Sept. Like all things, it just didn't live up to the memories. There was a leak in the main hallway so they had a bucket and a trash can catching water the entire time I was there, my view was the quiet pool which should have been o.k. but there were a group of adults that felt it really necessary to be in the pool late most nights. I also used to love that quiet pool, but evidently same adults didn't go to the parks at all so they had their cooler with refreshing adult beverages and about 10 of them staked out a part of the pool and were in there all the time. I'm not a fan of the main pool so that was a bummer. The resort just didn't seem to have the same sort of adult/relaxed vibe it used to have.

So now I'm going to have to say BWI, which actually used to be my least favorite of the Epcot resorts. I've stayed there maybe 5 times since the last time I was stayed at YC (before this Sept) and I never had a bad view, all the resort was working and I just have come to love the vibe.

Moderates would be CSR, but not the tower, I like the Casitas. Value would be whichever one is the cheapest at the time I'm going. Full disclosure, I only stay in the values for a night or two at the beginning of a trip on a split stay just to save a little money.

I've stayed at almost all WDW resorts except - AoA (which I will most likely never stay at since I'm not paying that much for a value), SSR just never been interested and can usually find something less, WL we don't spend a lot of time at MK so can usually find something for less in the Epcot area, RIV not a fan of the sky liner. I have even stayed at the Fort in our RV (will be there Monday) I actually tend to stay at Swan/Dolphin more than any of the others, Epcot is my favorite park and I love the Epcot area resorts.

I'm a resort nomad. Part of the fun of a WDW trip is changing it up and staying at different resorts.
My favorites vary over many years and like above posters, one bad experience can really impact
your feeling about a resort. From 2000 -- 2015, it was Poly CL all the way. We loved it there. But,
crowding at Poly has changed my feelings about it. I can't see Poly becoming less crowded with the tower.

I tend to stay at GF the most -- it just works for most trips. My favorite Epcot resort is YC, but I also end
up at Swan/Dolphin because they can be cost effective. I do love WL and AKL, but usually as part of a split stay.
If I want peace and quiet with easy access to Disney Springs, it's Saratoga. It is also a great place for exercising --
good gym and more than ample walking. (way more than ample!)

For moderate, we've been favoring Coronado. I did get lost trying to find my room last time I stayed there and
ended up on the loading dock. I find it a bit confusing, so I usually stay in the tower.
