On our next trip, we will have our car, so we decided to try some more of the resort restaurants since it will (hopefuly) be easier to get to them than via regular bus transportation.

What are your favorite resort restaurants? We've eaten at 1900 Park Fair, Boma, and Chef Mickey's. I'm particularly interested in O'Hana's for dinner - can anyone tell me the children's menu? Also, I've read they have some entertainment. Can someone elaborate on that?

Also, if you drove, were any of the resorts difficult to drive to/park at?

Thanks for any info!

I went in Nov 2008. We stayed at a monorail resort and tried just about every restaurant at the GF/Poly/CR.

Ohanas was good. I believe there was not a kids menu. They paid for the same meal, just a smaller price tag attached.

I would go back to Chef Mickeys and Konas for breakfast and I would go back to GF Cafe for lunch. All other places I could give or take. Cali Grill was excellent, but the price includes the view. I loved Le Cellier and Yak and Yetis just as much and they were much less expensive. I was on the deluxe dining plan and I still cringed at the bill even though I wasnt paying for it!! (Well, I did have to leave a 20% gratuity, but the waiter was really great) The Wave was great, but it just opened when we were there and not too many people made an ADR for it (didnt know it was there!) It was quiet, which was a big attraction for me! If it was crowded, I dont know if I would feel the same.

The one place I really really didnt like was Citricos. The food was presented beautifully, but it tasted like ehhh and there was very little of it. I am not a big eater and I was hungry leaving that place.

Good luck with your picks!

Oh..forgot to tell you about the entertainment at Ohanas..

Outside the dining room, when you are waiting to be seated, there is a trio playing some sort of Hawaiian music.

Inside the dining room, there is a guy walking around with one of those Madonna "Vogue" microphones teaching everyone a few words in Hawaiian. The also is the MC for a few kids games (coconut races and limbo..mostly for kids under 10 or so) and he announces birthdays and everyone sings "Happy Birthday".

There is the Spirit of Aloha dinner show at the same resort. That is a lot more entertaining. Its all you can eat, family style. Ribs, chicken, rice, bread and some other stuff I cant remember at the moment. The volcano dessert is delicious! All you can drink wine and beer...and a little entertaining show complete with fire dancers and hula girls!!
