We've never really made time to check out restaurants at resorts other than the one we were staying at (POR), but we have an early-end day at Animal Kingdom next trip, and are thinking of trying someplace new. We'll be on the dining plan, two adults and DS10 (so first time on the adult menu) who is not an overly adventurous eater.

Is there one restaurant you really love, and think we absolutely have to try?

Ooh that would have to be Citricos at the Grand Floridian, the place is amazing!

Jiko at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. As a bonus, it's very convenient to get there after a day at the Animal Kingdom.

Definetly Ohana at the Polynesian for me. Delicious buffet and we ate so much on our last vacation, we felt as though we robbed them for not-so-bad price tag.

Another Jiko fan here! I love the food, service and atmosphere. :thumbsup2

There are 2 restaurants in resorts that are a must for us.

The first is Whispering Canyon Cafe at WL. It is DH's favorite restaurant. They have an all you can eat bbq skillet that he loves. I get the ribeye from the menu and love it, is the best steak on property that I have found.
The restaurant does antics your son may enjoy. It can be loud so keep that in mind.

The second place is Ohana at the Poly. We both love this place. The meal is all you can eat, preset menu, where you don't choose your entree, they just serve everything to you and you can eat what you want.
Wonderful skewered meats, sticky wings with dipping sauces, a pineapple bread, salad with citrus dressing, broccoli, carrots and snow peas for the veggie and last but not least, the best dessert anywhere on WDW property....the bread pudding. (and I hate bread pudding..lol)

Those 2 places we don't miss. Have fun on your trip!!

I also really like Citrico's :thumbsup2

I liked Ohana's, the food was just okay but my family really enjoyed the experience there, it's a fun place!

My home resort & one of my favorites "Flying Fish", next across the lake "Yacht Club" now on to the Contemporary's "California Grill" and last but not least Grand Floridian's "Narcoossee's". We've had fabulous experiences at all these locations fine food and wonderful service. We were also able to plan Magic Kingdom fireworks for both California Grill & Narcoossee's. Jiko & Citrico are both on our list of must do's. I think you will enjoy any of these, enjoy.

I think Sanaa at AKL is the best 1 TS restaurant on Disney's dining plan (and is actually better than at least 2 of the 2TS restaurants).

My favorite 2 TS is Flying Fish, followed by Citricos and Jiko.

We loved Cali Grill at the Comteporary and Sanaa at Kidani village.

But Cali was outstanding and the view of the fireworks at MK was amazing.

I agree with Sanaa. It's MUCH better than Boma. I haven't tried Jiko yet, so I'm not sure about that one. I also love Ohana at the Polynesian, but Sanaa would be more convenient from the Animal Kingdom park.

I asked DS11 and he suggests:

1) 'Ohana at the Poly
2) Boma at AKL
3) Whispering Canyon Cafe at WL

If you haven't been eating at the resorts, you have been missing out!! There are some really good ones out there! I love Boma, Kona Cafe, and Ohana. We also enjoyed the Whispering Canyon. We are going to try some new ones this time. Just try some out! You will find your own faves!!!!!!!!!

flying fish on the boardwalk, narcoossee's or citricos both at the grand floridian. my best advice is to check out the menus and make a final decision that way. i had a really mixed crowd (7 people total) with a huge range of tastes and we were all very pleased with narcoossee's. but i also absolutely love citricos and flying fish. they've never disappointed.
