Favorite Resort, Least Favorite Resort and Old Faithful

Favorite: It's so hard to choose a favorite, but I think my current favorite is Poly

Least Favorite: CBR

Old Faithful: Pop and CSR - we've stayed at both multiple times and it's always been great

Favorite Deluxe: Contemporary MK view, Favorite Moderate: French Quarter, Favorite Budget: POP
Least Favorite: All Stars (just not for us)
Old Faithful: Wilderness Lodge

Favorite: Art of Animation - I've gotten the suites and they are spacious and the themed areas of fun. The Finding Nemo pool they actually play music under water. It's lots of fun. I've never paid the $$$ for Polynesian, Grand Floridian or Contemporary - but they are on my bucket list

Least Favorite - Caribbean Beach. I find the whole set up confusing. I'll be staying here again in November so we'll see if my opinions change.

Old Faithful - POP Century. It's great when I run the RunDisney races. Rooms are clean, close, and cheap.

Favorite: Port Orleans Riverside. We've stayed there six times and each one has been perfect. I love the grounds, the pools and theme and also that it's a sister resort with POFQ.

Least favorite: Polynesian. I just didn't love it like I wanted to. We had several issues there that can happen anywhere but the pricetag makes those harder to swallow! I do want to give it another try for sure, because while we had issues we still enjoyed it and know we'd probably have a great experience next time!

Old Faithful: Pop Century. We love the price point, it feels so Disney, great location and the lake, proximity to AoA and new rooms just make it ideal for us when we want to save money. 25 days until we are back!

I love all the resorts we have tried and we have just a few more to still try.

My favorite is Poly. Love the atmosphere. It just feels so relaxing!

Least favorite of those I’ve tried is GF. It’s very nice, just not my style. I do love visiting at Christmas though.

Old Faithful is BWI or BC. These are my second favorite resorts and I’d stay here anytime.

Favorite- BWI, we just love the theming, decor, entertainment

Least favorite - All Star Movies. Only stayed one night, but We had a terrible room and found the food court too chaotic.

Old faithful - POFQ, small and easy. Never a bad stay

Favorite: Contemporary Resort (for the grand canyon concourse and monorail)

Least Favorite: All Star Music

Old Faithful: POFQ

Just a fun way to determine everyones favorite resorts and some that arent so good. Old Faithful being the resort that you always come back to and never dissapoints.

For me (Ill start by saying I dont stay at Value Resorts, not because Im snobby but at that price point Id probably stay off property).

Favorite Resort: Contemporary Resort. I stayed there as a child and was there quite often when I was a Disney cast member. Just classic Disney and I love everything about it. Cant stay there everytime because its quite expensive.

Least Favorite: Animal Kingdom Lodge. Had booked there many times but always changed it at the last minute. Finally went last year for 2-3 days for a Savannah view room. Had a bad room, bad cast member experience and found the rooms extremely small. Seemed even smaller than some moderates. NEVER AGAIN.

Old Faithful: Port Orleans French Quarter. Think I have stayed there at least 1 night for the last 5 trips to Disney. POFQ never disappoints and IMHO is a great hidden gem (although not so hidden anymore).

Anyone else.
Favorite(s): Polynesian (although haven’t stayed there in years since the prices got ridiculous) and Wilderness Lodge.

Old Faithful: POFQ and POP

Least Favorite: All Stars..although I don’t hate them.

Favorite: Beach Club. Stayed there the first time last year. It was without a doubt my favorite so far.

Least: I hated Coronado. It was way too spread out and the buses never came or were full. It was just the worst experience. Though I did like the dining. Only ONLY positive of that resort to me.

Old faithful: don’t have one. Never stayed at the same resort twice.

Depends on how many of us are staying together. Animal Kingdom feels like home when I'm alone or with only one other person.
It took awhile to inch its way up on my favorite list, but The Poly is probably now at the top.
I love either of The Port Orleans - - again, when I'm solo.
I've never stayed at any of the values & never want to try The Contemporary.
But my very least favorite was Coronado. The room was small & dark & it felt like staying at La Quinta.

Favorite: Poly bungalow. I had some DVC points that were going to expire so splurged. But that was a one time thing.

Least favorite: Boardwalk Inn. Hate the parking. A long long walk IF you can find a place. valet parking takes at least an hour to retrieve a car. I’ve almost missed a flight more than once. No QS. No balcony for some rooms. I am not a Boardwalk fan.

Old Faithful: Saratoga Springs Congess Park. I love all the options at DS. Easy parking.

Favorite: Beach Club - wonderful walk to Epcot and boat ride to Hollywood Studios (want to stay at Boardwalk in the future but can never get it).
Least Favorite: All Star Movies - rooms are small and walls are thin.
Old Faithful: Old Key West - great boat ride to Disney Springs and spacious rooms.

Favorite: Poly-love the grounds and the beach! Enjoy having the monorail as transportation.
Least favorite: Pop-just too busy, pools full, no quiet areas.
Old faithful: POR-have stayed here 15 times. We love the grounds and the peacefulness.

Oh what a great thread!

Bearing in mind that I've only been to WDW once, a visit (we were at Port Orleans Riverside) during which I nevertheless visited all the deluxe resorts so my opinion is based on the public areas of the hotels as opposed to staying there.

Least favourite resort: The Contemporary. I know it's got lots of fans so I'll keep my criticism short but to us, this is by far the coldest, most uninviting hotel of them all. The CMs, from the lobby to the California Grill podium to our servers, were snobbish and aloof and we absolutely hated this hotel. Not only does the 'theme' not appeal to us at all and we don't understand it but the atmosphere was even worse. It's a huge shame, I wasn't expecting to dislike it so much so I'd had plans to have at least of couple of meals there and I had to cancel everything after our first visit. Even if this were the cheapest hotel on property, we would never stay there. I'll maybe make an effort to check out the Contempo Cafe and The Wave on my own one day but I'll keep any and all expectations at an all-time low.

Favourite resort: The Polynesian blew me away. I never in a million years expected it to feel that way. The minute I stepped foot inside the resort, I knew it was special. It's got an incredible sense of place that can't be seen in pictures, you have to experience it for yourself - the gorgeous, lush decor, the mini waterfall in the lobby, the music, the beach, the view, the staff, the relaxed guests. Every hotel transports you somewhere and some do it impeccably but the Polynesian is the ONLY resort that made me feel like I was on holiday. Sitting on a swing bench with your feet buried in the sand, feasting your eyes on Cinderella's Castle while the lovely music lulls you to let it all go while sipping Lili'koi juice is my definition of heaven. It's right there with Castaway Cay's Serenity Bay for me in terms of relaxation (which is the highest praise I could possibly give). Also, Kona Cafe has the best breafkast in Disney World in my opinion. Great service, the Kona coffee French pot is exceptionally flavourful, the juice is perfect and the Macadamia Nut Pancakes are melt-in-your-mouth pieces of buttery deliciousness.
I will say though that The Grand Floridian is the most gorgeous hotel and the one that impressed me the most, everything from the decor, the atmosphere and the staff, but the Polynesian is just special and has my heart.

Old Faithful: We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside and even though we were only there once, it's home. It's beautiful and cosy. I'm getting emotional just writing this. I feel homesick for it, it was perfect for us. We loved the resort so much and being able to walk down the river to grab some delicious beignets from French Quarter almost every night was truly special. I feel like it'll stay our home for a while, we felt completely welcome there and part of the community. It helps that we enjoyed the resort's pool, campfire, food court and bar a lot and made it our homebase. Unless our budget allows for a deluxe, POR is where we're at.

Favorite / Old Faithful: Port Orleans Riverside. Have a feeling favorite will soon be the Poly but I haven't stayed there yet but I am going next summer.

Least Favorite : All-Star Music. I liked it well enough but not of fan of the food court or bus stops.

Favorite: The BoardWalk. Theming, grounds Andy location, location location.

Least favorite: CBR. Stayed in 2014 and it was big, had horrible neighbors that smoked nonstop outside the door, busses took forever.....just not for us.

Old Faithfil: POFQ. Love the size, love the grounds, never had a bus issue, it’s quiet and romantic.

I never stayed at a deluxe...

Favorite Resort: Coronado (POR is a close second and DH's favourite)

Least Favorite: Pop. Hated that resort. I would prefer staying offsite rather than go back to Pop.

Old Faithful: Coronado Springs

My favorites are the ones start with B .. Beach Club, Boardwalk, and BLT. I also like Wilderness and lately Polly. I just try to avoid the buses and I like another means of transportation.
