What is your favorite resort CS? And why? DH and I are staying at CSR, we're eating at a few different resorts but want to add one or two resort CS for lunch or dinner. Resort restaurants we're already eating at are: 'Ohana (never been), Narcoossee's (anniversary), Chef Mickey's (traditional first night at WDW meal), Captain's Grille (with another couple), Pepper Market, and Gasparilla Grill (one of DH's favorites).

Thanks!

Captain Cooks at the Polynesian and the Mill (not sure of proper name) at the POR-Riverside.

Question for OP -- can you tell me about Gasparilla Grill? Why is it your dh's fave?
I want to check out the gingerbread house at GF and I was wondering of there is somethiong we ought to try at their CS.

The food court at POFrench Quarter is really great. Both The Mara at AKL and Artist Pallet at SSR have some different menu items.

Sure - DH loved the Southwest Chicken Sandwich, it's a spicy breaded chicken breast (not a pattie like so many others), with cole slaw and a spicy mayo on it. He just loved it. Plus, we were there for dinner on our last night and enjoyed seeing Illuminations right from our table without having to go outside (it was freezing out that night). I had the Jerk chicken sandwich the first time we were there, I didn't really like it, just didn't have the spice a true Jerk chicken should have. Had a tasted of DH's sandwich and got that on our last night, delicious! Plus you get a side, drink and dessert for a CS. You can even get the cole slaw from the sandwich on the side and get the cucumber salad as your side. Delicious!

Thanks all for your feedback, we were thinking of trying Mara for lunch one day, saw that their soup is considered a snack (yay), I simply love soup! POR was also on the list of possibilities. What do you recommend at each?

We like Riverside Mill at POR and POP Century for the same reason. They have great ice cream sundaes! :goodvibes They also have a wide variety of items other than pizza and hamburgers. We had the create your own pasta at POR which was wonderful and filling. At POP, DH had the fish sandwich (he said it was very good) and I had the chicken alfredo pasta or whatever it is called. It was also very good and very (overly) filling. I didn't even want dinner those two evenings but since we had the meal plan, I had to go to dinner and eat.

I agree with these 2 places, especially for breakfast. The Tonga toast at Poly and made to order omlet at Riverside. We were at the MK 2 weeks ago and went to POR 3 times and Capt Cooks in Poly 2 times.

I like Pop's food court. There is a lot of variety and they have some really good desserts.

Captain Cooks for the pork sandwich and the polynesian chips (and dole whip!)

The Mara....more unusual foods for a CS place, and some of the soups they serve at Boma (and Zebra Domes -- not personally a fan of them, but some people go crazy for them)

Capt Cooks, they have the best grilled cheese, Kona chips and the chicken lo mein is incredible!

YIKES: My bad, I meant viewing "WISHES" from Gasparilla Grill.

I know you asked for lunch/dinner but one of my favorite memories ever at WDW was during our November 2008 trip my bf and I went to the Boardwalk Bakery at like 9-10 a.m.. There was hardly anyone there and we got croissant egg and cheese sandwiches (that were so fresh and delicious) and sat out on the boardwalk (they have tables and chairs). It was so incredibly peaceful by the water. The sun was shining and there was no one around. We must've sat there for an hour just talking and enjoying the moment (and food! I went back in and got an eclair :cutie:). We always do a ton of TS meals and this meal was by far my favorite of the trip :goodvibes.

Actually, we are looking for breakfast places too, so this is very helpful, thank you! We'll be paying OOP for breakfast probably, and are looking for something inexpensive, good, and convenient to where we'll be on that particular morning. This sounds like a good plan for us on an Epcot morning. :)

This sounds yummy to me!
Thanks!

Another vote for Captain Cooks here! I love the grilled cheese and chips are yummo! The burgers and BBQ pork sammies were also very good. And come on, who can refuse a Dole Whip for dessert?!?!

The Contempo Cafe because of it's location on the 4th floor of the Contemporary Tower and it's got a great atmosphere.
