We are coming in a few weeks and staying at DL Hotel. We tend to not make reservations when going to DL. We like just figure out what we want to eat when we get there. We eat a lot of counter service. What are some of your favorite places to eat in DD? Interested in both table service and counter service but not interested if we need to have a reservation ahead of time. Thanks!

We really enjoyed Centrico the last time we are there. Their quesabirria is delicious.
We also like Earl of Sandwich Tavern and Ballast Point.
I have not been there since they opened DTF or the Parkside Market, but looking forward to trying them in a few weeks.

Another vote for Ballast Point. I especially love the outdoor patio upstairs.

We were just there Memorial Day weekend and tried Din Tai Fung was very surprised, even my wife who usually orders from the kids menus because she's very picky, enjoyed the food. I highly recommend eating here.

Naples is good, you can get a large Pizza for like $44 which will feed 4 so it is pretty cheap. Not really DD but in the Grand California Hotel, Craftsman Grill is a really good atmosphere with pretty good food.

While it is possible to get in on a waitlist, reservations are strongly suggested for Din Tai Fung and Paseo. Most of DTD gets busy during dinnertime. Reservations are often available same day. If is noon and you are thinking of eating in DTD at 6 pm, you might check the app to see what reservations are available that evening. Since the DTD restaurants are privately owned, reservations are often easier through Open Table, Yelp, or the restaurant's website.

Just got home from a 6 night stay at DLH. Went to Din Tai Fung on night one with a reservation and we loved it so much that we ordered it to go on our last night as well.
What did you order? I have a reservation in a few weeks but its a new to me restaurant, so I have no idea about the menu.

Don Tai Fung! Have the chocolate dumplings for dessert!
Another vote for Din Tai Fung.

Trader Sam’s doesn’t meet your no reservations requirements but alternatively Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar and Grill does.

Palm Breeze at Discovery Tower (VDH) is seldom crowded.

We had the sweet and sour pork ribs, kurabota pork buns, chicken buns, spicy chicken wontons and shrimp fried noodkes, finished everything between 4 of us.
