Another vote for POFQ. Seeing any trends?
We've stayed deluxe only once- the Poly - and honestly we all preferred POFQ. So that's our home resort now.
Sadly, $150 is not a "last hurrah" budget at Disney - it's a moderate, at best, budget. You should subscribe to Mousesavers.com, a monthly newsletter that compiles the most recent coupon codes and deals offered by Disney. Also keep an eye on these boards- when a new promotion hits, it lights a fire under everyone here! Also, if you have AAA, you can get a discount on room-only reservations and also tickets. You can also book a complete package through AAA if you are interested in getting the dining plan.
If you do book POFQ, ask for a refurbished room. I'm not sure when the re-do's are supposed to be finished, but you may as well get a new room, right? The beds are queen as opposed to full-sized in the older rooms.
Also, I recommend picking up a good guide book so you can read about all the attractions ahead of time. This way you can pick out the cream of the crop and not waste time with less-appealing rides or shows. I recommend the Unofficial Guide (if you have intestinal fortitude- the new book offers 504 pages of info BEFORE you step foot into the first park) but other folks here love PassPorters. I've also used Birnbaum's, which is not so detailed but gives a good overview.
