Where is your favorite family place to eat close to USO? We will be going April 9th with a 15, 12, and 9 year old.

Thanks
Michelle

If by "close to USO" means outside of the property you will find just about every single chain restaurant imaginable out on International Drive. My personal family favorites would be Sweet Tomatoes and Bahama Breeze but your mileage will vary.

In the parks, at IOA if you want to sit and eat some decent food and be served on Mythos and Confisco's are excellent. For counter service it's been pretty much hit and miss at both of the USF parks. The Oak tavern in front of Dueling Dragons has been the best, most consistent and a very cozy setting to boot (for me, anyway).

If you're AAA, flash the card, you'll get a 10% discount at most of the USO restaurants (which will help bring the prices closer to what you'd be paying off-site).

Just wanted to add that the Orlando Magicard also gets you 10% off at US/ IOA restaurants, and the Fanclub card gets you 10% off at select Citiwalk restaurants.:D

What restaurant discount does the annual pass give and at which restaurants?

Paris, What type of restaurant is Bahama Breeze?

15% off in the parks excluding carts and alcohol and 10% off at most Citywalk restaurants. I'm not clear on the exact citywalk deals, they sometimes off alternate deals like a free childs meal at Pastamore or free appetizer at NBA city. I am not sure what the current promos at the Citywalk places are, I'll have to find out.

And Bahama Breeze, though I haven't been there, seems to have a Carribbean flair, with lots of jerk types of stuff. But I could be wrong...I looked at a menu recently, I'll see if I can dig it up!

Karen :smooth:

I can always just get out my fan club, AAA, and AP cards and let the restaurant tell me the best one to use. Do you know if there is a limit to the number of people per table that can get a discount? There will be 8 of us and we all have APs and both families have Fan Club cards and probably AAA.

Please tell me more, what is this Fanclub card? How much is it? Where do I get one?

Near the top of this board is a thread titled "Important - Fan Club Card" that should answer most of your questions. :D

We like Margaritaville and Hard Rock Cafe!
Pretty good food & lots of action.

Off-site: Gettin' Chilis drive-up / take-out and watchin' a movie at the room.

to have dinner offsite, you cant beat Sweet Tomatoes on price, selection and quality ((and this stuff is REAL and HEALTHY food!!!)

Bahama Breeze is a fusion of Caribbean flavors. While it's owned by the same Darden group that runs Red Lobster and Olive Garden (and HQ'd in Orlando actually) Bahama Breeze has a distinct flair.

They don't open for lunch on weekdays. I believe they open all day on Saturdays and Sundays. It's like the Caribbean version of Cracker Barrel where you have a small store area and cozy area to wait outside if there's a long wait (well, with a bar and music in Bahama's case).

The menu isn't traditional. It's like the P.F. Changs of Chinese where flavors are combined or Americanized. For instance, they serve a bruschetta that's served on Cuban bread. The Nicaraguan Tres Leches is done up in chocolate.

Opinions will vary, of course. It never hurts to try it once and decide for yourself.

How do you get to International drive where the chain restaurants are? I am going to rent a car when I down there and am staying at Disney but will be spending one day in US/IOA. Any sort of direction would be helpful keeping in mind I am not from Florida. Thanks!
