Favorite/most comfortable shoes for Disney

Either Teva Mush flip flops or Keen Newports. I switched between the two for ten days last June with no problems.

I am piggy backing off of the crocs thread because it was interesting. It had me thinking about Disney shoes. I have never been able to wear tennis shoes in the parks. They get too uncomfortable after a while and start to give me blisters. My favorite shoes are the Adidas/Nike flip flops with the soft memory foam insole.

What are your favorite shoes and why?

I'd say you're wearing the wrong tennis shoes then. With the right pair of socks, there's nothing better then a good fitting pair of tennis shoes. Ecco are the most comfortable pair I've ever worn, but there are plenty of good ones out there.

Last year I wore crocs flip flops and sanuk yoga mat flip flops on alternating days for the whole trip (I wear flip flops daily at home pretty much).

The days I wore crocs, my feet were noticeably more tired and achey. They were fine all day in the parks, but back at the resort is when they'd be achey. The days I wore the sanuks weren't so bad. I'll still wear the crocs though, because getting the sanuks wet is not a good idea.

My nike zoom air Vomeros love them and do not go anywhere without them.

Like a lot of folks, my feet just absolutely ache after the 1st day at WDW. My wife (a marathoner) and kids have zero issues so I get zero sympathy from them... they want to go go go all the time, open till close. :( I know that I could drop about 30lbs and ease the burden on my feet but alas, I always seem to forget jus how bad my feet hurt by the time we head back to the WDW....

Traditionally I wear tennis shoes.. Nike, New Balance, Adidas, Asics, just about every brand but to no avail. Before our last trip I had read someone note that Crocs are real comfy to wear at WDW so I brought a pair and to my surprise, they definitely helped. I brought Crocs and Tennis shoes and swapped out each day. The Crocs certainly were better but my feet still felt sore after a long day at the parks.

So this year, I will bring a new pair of New Balance tennis shoes, some crocs and a pair of flip flops or possibly the Sketcher Go Walks I have read about. I will change up after each day to see which work best.

I've posted on a few different forums about shoes, when people say they get sore feet even though they are wearing running shoes. I tell them their feet hurt because running shoes are designed for running. Certain aspects come into play in a running shoe such as weight and means to improve running stride. This can sacrifice support and structure. Unless you're running the disney marathon, by shoes that are made for walking ie, hiking shoes, go walks, etc. My personal faves though, my waterproof Merrel Chameleons. You get the best of both worlds structure, comfort and support, plus they keep your feet dry on wet days or water rides!

High quality leather thong flip flops, jellies, flat sandals, skimmers, etc. Basically, anything flat that will dry fast. Wet shoes = blisters in no time.

I never wear the same pair all day as we take mid day breaks for pool time and to refresh and change for the evening. My feet never hurt:)

I plan on getting a new pair of the Go Walk Sandals that I have seen. I also just bought a pair of Cobian flip flops from The Buckle - They are cute, have arch support, and are like walking on marshmallows!! I will probably also take a pair of tennis shoes.

Another vote for the Skecher Go Walks.....On my previous trips I wore different sneakers (usually Nikes), one trip I even took two pair of sneakers and switched each day. It never failed that I came home with blisters. On my last trip I wore only my Skecher Go Walks and cotton free socks and went a commando week at Disney with no blisters for the first time ever!! :cool1:

Nike Free Run. You can wear them with or without socks. LOVE THEM!!

I also wear Teva Mush flip-flops. I have a high arch and these are the only flip-flops I can wear long-term without suffering.

If you asked me before last week I would say Skechers go walk. I had a pair I used in December and loved them. They really helped with the plantar fasciitis. Last week I got a pair of NB Fresh foam and I think they are better then the Skechers. My PF pain has gone away completely.

My Mickey running shoes I bought at the Wine & Dine half marathon. They are New Balance (like all of the Disney running shoes) and are very comfortable with great air circulation. Just wore them the other day to hike South Mountain in Phoenix, AZ which was amazing. Wore them after the Wine & Dine half too instead of my Mizuno running shoes.

On our last trip, my feet and legs were sooooo much happier in my Keens (Newport H2) or even my Reef and Teva flipflops than they were in my sneakers. This coming trip, I'll definitely be in my Keens again, but am looking forward to also trying out my Olukai flipflops - I looooove these sandals. My every-day shoes are my Dansko clogs, so there's no way I'm wearing those in the parks!

I stick with trusty rusty sneakers. Reeboks, specifically because they're the only ones that give me sufficient arch support. Typically, I prefer full leather sneakers for the extra support, but those are hard to find any more. My only complaint about the extra support is after a day of EPCOT, my pinky toes hurt. This time I'm trying a pair of mesh Asics (which I recently found out give me decent arch support) to see how it goes.

I still am faithful to my Crocs! Not the big clunky clodhoppers, though... I wear the sandal style ones. Nothing keeps my feet and back as happy as a Crocs sole. :cutie:

I bought a pair of Sketchers with memory foam in the soles and they've been amazing!

Sanuk Flip Flops or Nike for me, light weight walking sneaker for DH.
