What are your favorite menu items to share with 2 or 3 in DL and CA? I'm already planning the Monte Cristo at Cafe Orleans, the fried chicken at Plaza Inn, and maybe some of the meals at Rancho del Zocato.
(We're a family of 7 and I'm trying to be very cost efficient while still eating yummy food. On our previous trips we found we didn't have the appetites for full meals anyway. For the most part, we prefer quick and counter service. Planning a trip in Sept17 and/or May18.)
Thanks!

I was going to suggest Plaza Inn fried chicken as well. It's super easy to share and you can also order just the sides or substitute the green beans for more mash potato. You can also order items a la carte. I do that when I'm on my own, I get a breast piece, mash and a drink for round $10 and it's plenty filling.

At the corndog places you can ask for just the corndogs without the chips and it will save you a few bucks. For soup in a bread bowl, I've read that you can get the soup in a separate bowl so the bread doesn't get soggy. That seems like it would be easy to share too. My mom and I often share a burger and fries since we are not big eaters either. Smokejumpers would be a good place for that.

And finally, we've been known to have ice cream sundaes for lunch, those are easy to share :) My son loves that!!

For my family, one entree would not be enough to share among three people, but if you looking to share multiple things (e.g., order two entrees to share among three people), then there are lots of great choices! It easiest to share at the CS locations because you can often see what you're selecting (and determine based on portion size how many entrees you need).

If you go to Cafe Orleans, my family also likes to split an order of the pomme frites and a bowl of gumbo. At the French Market, the French Market Chicken is fairly substantial and very good. Another TS location with fairly good sized portions is the RBT (the ribs come six to a plate, plus two sides and they're really tasty). Over in DCA, Flo's have some pretty tasty options (we liked the sandwiches we tried); however, the portions aren't really that big (good amount of a single normal sized appetite, but not really enough for two people).

I also agree with Angrose that ice cream sundaes make excellent meals! :goodvibes Both Gibson Girl and Clarabelle's have some very yummy (and pretty good sized) options.

Thanks, Angrose! I hadn't thought of ordering the corndogs without chips. My son wants one but it would be $67 for our family to eat corndogs since you can't easily share them. And I hadn't heard of Smokejumpers. Looks good.
Figment, I do want to try those ribs!!!

We (family of 5 with 3 teens) enjoy sharing a couple of breakfast platters along with a fresh fruit platter from Tomorrowland Terrace. Hubby usually gets a breakfast burrito. No one gets stuffed and there isn't any food to be tossed. Whitewater Snacks is a good place to have a meal. Lots to order and share.

StageDoor Cafe...Mint Chocolate Chip Sundae.

It is a generous two ice cream scoop sundae...but if you ask them to "split" it, they will toss one scoop each into a waffle bowl that may have been cracked or partially broken and both still get whipped cream and toppings...you pretty much still get a full sundae x2 with just a little less ice cream...which is fine cuz those things are huge in their own!

Hubby and I have shared at Paradise Garden Grill, plus if you want more protein you can add an extra skewer for a couple dollars.

Rancho is easy to share, especially an adult sharing with kids and we enjoy the food. I would skip the kids meals if you're looking to save money and have your kids split adult meals. Three younger kids could easily share a plate of Mexican food at Rancho. As someone said they could share a hamburger and fries. Pretty sure it's cheaper to order one adult meal than two kids' meals. Also, you could save money and try a few more thing by skipping lunch one (or more days) and trying a few snacks instead. We also bring food in like packages of crackers, dried fruit, apples, nuts, applesauce and/or juirce pouches, etc. Even if that won't work for hungry adults or teens, it should work for your younger kids. We sometimes buy lunch for ourselves and have the kids eat food we brought because I can only handle them eating so much mac and cheese.

My niece and I like to share the three cheese monte cristo and pomme frites at Cafe Orleans as well as the cheese enchilada and steak platter at Rancho!

This item?

Red Chile Enchilada Platter
Three Cheese Enchiladas topped with Red Chile Sauce served with Mexican Rice and Refried Beans

Is that 3 enchiladas? Or is it 3 cheeses in 2 enchiladas? Is the Red Chile Sauce spicy?

Nope we get this one...Carne Asada & Red Chile Enchilada Platter - succulent beef cooked to perfection, served with two cheese enchiladas

I don't think it's spicy at all!

Our last trip we got a Mickey sourdough loaf, a Mickey Pretzel with cheese and then a Crissy Fields Sundae from Giradellies. I think in total with my ap discount it was about $25 and it fed 6 people with the youngest being 12. It was one of our funnest meals. That was at lunch time when we were hot and hungry but didn't want soups from the Wharf.

The Pasta at Pizza Port in Tomorrowland. Easily serves 2 adults, maybe even 3. THe chicken teriyaki bowl and the pizzas at Tangora Terrace near the DL hotel pool. I just stumbled on the last one and the food is actually really good and the place is almost never crowded no matter how bad it is at the park and DTD.

For the 5 of us we rally enjoy Plaza Inn for sharing. We like to share 2 fried chicken meals and a pasta. Its more than enough and so good.

I concur re: Pizza Port
DH, DS (14) and I shared a chicken alfredo dish and we were full!
