Favorite Meals to Share, Please

We are not big eaters but do not like to eat from the same actual "dish'. Some places gave you extra plates, some did not. I carry some aluminum foil in my bag and created a "dish" for myself if needed. Works great. Lots of people commented how smart we were to think of this. Started lots of goood conversations.

Also we found the kids meals offered to all in DL. Those were about 1/2 the price of adults but had more healthy variety and filled us up better than fries on adult meals. They are lower in sodium too. Husband would buy a coke, which he lives on and I would drink his milk which worked great.

Have fun and eat well.

my husband and i share meals a lot. one of our favorite things to get is a pasta dish and a slice of pizza from pizza port or boardwalk pizza and pasta. usually he will eat the pizza and we share the pasta. works out perfectly.
also, kid's meals have pretty generous portions, so that's what i order whenever i can.

I know this is an old thread... but does anyone know the price of a chicken breast ala cart at Plaza Inn?

Sorry. I don't know the cost of a chicken breast. But I want to add to the thread for those that may benefit from it now.

3 could share a salad and pasta at Boardwalk pizza & pasta in DCA.

We found the kids meals not worth it. Better to share an adult meal.

Also, bring your own drinks to the park. That would save a lot. Get a cup of ice at the restaurant.

On our last trip (2 partial days, 2 full days) I told my kids that we would save $175-200 by not buying drinks in the parks. We took in our own water and sometimes soda. Counter service locations were happy to give me a cup of ice on the 2 times I asked. (Corn Dog Castle and Pacific Wharf Cafe.)

My son refuses to drink anything clear (water, 7 up) so I take in a small squirt bottle of Mio (grape!) and I add a squirt to a free cup of ice water, the biggest they will give me which is a medium size, and we get a free grape fruit drink and save 2.79 each. Also, Red Rockets Pizza Port sells a whole pizza which is much cheaper than individual slices. We also ask for mashed potatoes instead of string beans at Plaza Inn and an extra biscuit and have never been told no or been charged extra.

Does anyone happen to know if there are charges for splitting a meal at the sit down restaurants?

You have to use specific terminology. Something about splitting vs. sharing. You can share a meal meaning one plate of food and two people eating it and ask for a second empty plate. OR you could split a meal. This is where they plate the food for you on two plates and split the main entree and give each person their own sides. Sharing is free, splitting costs extra but includes additional food. I am not sure which sit down places do both, but I know that Blue Bayou does because it's a common conversation around here.
