I'm having a dinner party (I sound like June Cleaver) and I would like to do a martini bar. Offer maybe 3 -4 different choices. I've never made a martini (but I've drinken quite a few  ) What are some of your favorites?? Can you share the recipe please? Thank you :drinking1

Cosmo baby! :cool1: Let's see from memory: vodka, splash of cranberry juice, Cointreu and fresh lime.

Let's get one thing straight up front. A martini is gin with a splash of Vermouth. Regardless of what James Bond and 10 million drunken college kids will tell you, there is no such thing as a vodka martini.

You want a good martini, use good gin. I like Bombay Sapphire or Quintessential myself. If you want variety, use a twist or even a lime instead of an olive. But don't go messing with the basics - its gin and Vermouth. Period.

That out of the way, you can mix up just about anything you want and as long as you serve it in a martini glass, you can get away with calling it a martini. Here's my favorite:

Ingredients for Lemon Drop Martini
• 2 ounces lemon flavored vodka (for example, Absolut Citron)
• 1 teaspoon sugar
• lemon wedges
• lemon twist and sugar to garnish
Instructions
1. Place the lemon vodka, sugar and one lemon wedge in a cocktail shaker with crushed ice.
2. Shake until well blended
3. Serve in a martini glass that has the rim coated in sugar
4. Garnish your lemon drop martini with a lemon twist.

Finally! A question I'm qualified to answer! I'm a bartender so I'm full of drink recipes. Here are my favorite martinis:
Cosmopolitan: 2 parts citrus vodka to one part cointreau (or triple sec), a squeeze of lime and a splash (or more) of cranberry juice. Shake over ice and strain into glass.

Chocolate Martini: one part vanilla vodka, 2 parts creme de cacao (light or dark, dark is a bit richer) and half a part of Bailey's, shaken over ice.

I don't know the name of this one, just how to make it. It's delicious. I think it was called a "Smiling Leprechaun" when I got it in a bar. 2 parts baileys, one part creme de menthe (green), one part creme de cacao (again, light or dark, your choice), and a splash of cream, shaken over ice. Yummy! And it's green!

One more, just for kicks. Appletini: 1 part green apple vodka, 2 parts green apple schnapps, splash of sprite, shaken over ice. Or to make it a caramel apple martini, add one half part butterscotch schnapps.

Have fun with your party!

Unfortunately, I don't have the recipe for either of them--sorry. You can always try e-mailing WFW Guest Services, though. Often they will e-mil you recipes if you ask for them.

A Black and White Martini

I do believe this is how it was made.....

1 1/2 oz Vanilla Vodka
1/2 oz Godiva white chocolate liqueur
1/2 oz Bailey's

Shake and pour over ice in a chilled glass. Drizzle with Chocolate syrup

I just recently had a peach martini for the first time and it was yummy! I don't know the exact amounts but the ingredients are:

peach schnapps
vodka
champagne
orange juice.

A couple of recipes

Key Lime Martini
- 2 parts Malibu Coconut Rum
- 2 parts Stoli Vanil Vodka (vanilla flavored vodka)
- 1 part lime juice

Shake all ingredients with ice in a cocktail shaker, and strain into martini glass.

OR
Key Lime Martini
- 2 oz Vanilla Vodka
- 1 oz Rose's Lime Juice
- 1 oz Half & Half
Mix vodka, lime juice, and half & half in a shaker. Pour into Martini glass, serve with a twist of lime.

I also like 1 part mandarin vodka, 1 part vanilla vodka, and cranberry juice

Here's a web site with loads of recipes
