Hi:

Just wondered what everyones favorite mansion building at POR was and why it is their favorite.

Deb.

Magnolia Terrace. Has a quiet pool next to it. Close bus stop. Very short walk to the main pool over a bridge. A bit farther to the food court, but closer to the main pool and playground made up for that. We always request MT.

We enjoyed Oak Manor. It was pretty close to a bus stop and it was very quiet.

I liked Arcadian House because Magnolia is the most requested building in POR and is hard to get but Arcadian was just as great, we were right next to a bus stop, in fact it is the first stop made by the buses insuring you a seat, we were right across from ole man island and right behind that was the bridge leading to the main building...

Last time we where in Paratere Place and it was lovely! A little "away" so nice a quiet but close to a bridge for a quick access, and a pool near by too. We where on the corner of the resort that had the river, and the woods. You could see the road / bridge, river and main buildings. It was very nice.

We have also been in water-view at oak manor twice, and that room was just as nice. The rooms seem all convient. And there are several bridges and pools.

BUT, we have stayed in alligator bayou 3 times too. It is also a nice change, the rooms do not look as exciting from the outside, but the inside are so cool, I felt like we where in a cabin or camping! We have had buildings 37 and last 38. Building 38 std. room we recieved a woods view (no parking lot here) and a great duck pond right outside our door. With actual real ducks. ;) It is not a straight forward, set up in the bayou, it is weaving in and out, and a bit confusing till you figure out where you are. BUT don't under estimate it, rent the bikes and check it out, or go for a walk through here if you stay in the mansions. We like pors (since it was DXL-Lndgs), so its like 2 different resorts that you can stay in. :earseek:

Our last stay at Pors was march 05 we where in #38 before the wonder cruise a few days, and after our cruise we came back to PP, (our own version of land and sea) pirate: So this was fairly recently, both rooms had been nice rehab, fairly recently.

Parterre Place is my favorite mansion - of course, it's the only one I've ever stayed in(3X), but it was the perfect location for us. We request to stay on the side closest to the quiet pool(rooms 9712, 9720, 9716 I believe), which makes it just a few steps to the bridge going over to the Food Court and fewer steps to a small parking lot, which is great for us as we like to use our car alot while in WDW.

This is also recently renovated(w/i last year)so the building/rooms are in great shape, with the most comfortable pillowtop mattresses. As a chronic insomniac, this was the best sleep I'd gotten in years on that bed! Also, the mousekeeper(Roberto??)was awesome. He left me my first & only towel art, which I greatly appreciated, especially since he could tell there were no kids staying in the room.

I just love, love, love Parterre Place - I feel so "at home" while there!

Wow great descriptions of the Port Orleans resort. I would love to be there when the magnolia trees along the river are blooming.

We were at the french quarter two years ago and walked over to riverside and the buds were just getting ready to open, but we missed them in full bloom.

I agree. Panterre Place is my favorite. I love that it's quiet but you can take the bridge over to the lobby. Plus, there is a quiet pool right there. I've had that mousekeeper, I think Ricardo is his name?, and he's great. POR is the only resort I've stayed at where I've gotten towel animals.
