Favorite Line Queues

I'd say that Splash Mountain and Buzz Lightyear are among my favorite as far as lines go! But give me a FP any day of the week! :lmao:

Great thread. I have said this many times over the years... especially when we're at other parks.... no one can do a line like Disney!... They even make the lines fun. Sometimes I wish the line was a little longer just so you can see all of the details.

here's my favs.

Buzz Lightyear / Splash Mtn / POTC
Rock n rollercoaster / TOT
EE / ItsTough to be a bug
universe of energy - (stupid Judy) / mission space

I have spent many hours of my youth waiting in line at Space Mountain. :rotfl2: All the way back to the entrance. :scared1: Its one of the earliest rides with a good wait lines along with HM.

The safari at AK is pretty good as well. But Yeti as my kids call it, aka EE looks awesome but we have never waited that long to see it in detail. Test Track is the same.

We really use FP's especially for the long wait time rides. Because of FP's we just don't spend much time in the rides that have the most detail in the waiting areas.

Later,
Dan

With FP we miss a lot of the great themeing in the lines now but I have always liked:

Haunted Mansion
Pirates
Space Mtn (even tho I go thru the chicken exit)
Buzz
Splash

Tot (again I go out the chicken elevator, but I LOVE this que)
Star Tours

Mission space area while waiting for others to ride...fun games
Nemo - love the dark blu under the sea feeling
Norway - love that you hear the sounds of the ocean

Bugs Life - love the walk down thru the tree

Norway - love that you hear the sounds of the ocean

I am ashamed to say that I have never even noticed the ocean sounds.

And I LOVE this ride... as you can see if you look to the left, under my name.

I love the Splash Mountain queue line, and I especially love the sign that says "You can't run away from trouble ... ain't no place that far". The reason why I love this queue line is because I love the background music that is played as well as the theming for the line also. So lovely, so lovely.

Oh I love that!! I totally forgot about that until you mentioned it! ITA :cloud9:

I really love this thread :goodvibes

1. Tower of Terror
2. Expedition Everest
3. Toy Story Mania

I love the Haunted Mansion ride and I think the stretching room is cool but I ABSOLUTELY DESPISE the exit off the stretching room to the doom buggies. It reminds me of a herd of cattle being shuttled from a wide open space to a teeny tiny exit space. There has GOT to be a better way!! I am gripping my children's hands as others are smushing up against us. It is nuts!

For me:

MK--HM with the tombstones and the well themed exterior to the stretching room.
HS--TSM with the toys and games from my childhood.
AK--It's tough to be a bug.
EPCOT--Test Track. I have seen other post about games in Soarin, but I have never noticed these. Something to look for when we return.

Except for the tombstone with the face whose eyes move, what I remember most about the Haunted Mansion queue is how darn hot it was, despite the cover. For Toy Story Mania at rope drop, the FP line was longer than what we could see of the standby line, both in full sun. So we went standby (as Touring Plans recommends) and got to see all the games and PotatoHead. This is my favorite queue.

Space Mountain is my favorite! I love the music in there, it is so relaxing! I wrote to Disney asking them where I could get that music, but alas, no reply at all! I've been searching for that type of music because it is so upbeat, yet relaxing. I had a FP for Space Mountain the last time I was there and I felt cheated because I missed the music and the sights. I'm into astronomy and cosmology, so I'm biased...

Honorable mentions to Toy Story Movie Mania and Expedition Everest.

And a shout-out to Mission: Space for the reason listed above...

TSM
POTC
Muppets
Jungle Cruise - love the voice over announcements and corny jokes

MK: Haunted Mansion
Epcot: Test Track
AK: It's Tough to be a Bug
HS: ToT and Muppets

Disney does "waiting" better than anyone IMO:goodvibes

I have to ask, what games are at Soarin? We went in '05 right after it opened so there was nothing (that I remember). Please enlighten me for my upcoming trip.....also are these in the FP line as well?

TIA

My favorites are Soarin, Splash Mountain, TSM, and EE. I also love that the holding area before Carousel of Progress (since there would never be an actual line there :lmao:) plays video of Walt developing the attraction.

I was thinkin' the same thing about not remembering any "games" in the soaring queue.... but then I think what they are talking about might be the multiple choice questions that flash on the screens, and you have to guess the correct answer. IMO, if they didn't have that... it would just be a boring line....

When you're in the queue, there are big screens to your right. Sometimes you have to jump to grow trees or wave your arms around to plant seeds, or push up to make a hot air balloon float and not hit obstacles. :goodvibes

Haunted Mansion (no shock there!)
PotC @ WDW (although DLs is pretty slick as well)
SM
SplMtn
StarTours
ToT

if I have to wait in one I think TSM and Expedition Everest are very good.

MK= POTC, just love the dank, dim light dungeon feel.
Epcot = NEMO I like the dark, beach setting
AK= Dinosaur.....dinosaurs are just cool
DS= Great Movie Ride, I love the move, the props and the building itself.
