Favorite hotel (mod or value) for run Disney Dark Side Marathon?

I'm a disney visitor but never for a runDisney event. As a runner, which hotel do you suggest and why?

I have stayed at all of the moderates, except CSR, for races. I have stayed at CSR for a regular, non race trip, though. I thought all of them were great and had no problems at any. I will say that when I stayed at CBR (for the first Dark side half marathon!) I had a FABULOUS "carbo load" meal at their restaurant, Shutters--some pasta and chicken dish! Unfortunately, I know Shutters is currently closed due to construction and I don't know if they will be open again before the next Dark Side race.
For the marathon weekend one year, I stayed in a cabin at Fort Wilderness, which is also considered a "moderate", though a bit pricier. I REALLY enjoyed having my own kitchen so I could cook my own pasta meal the night before, and the full coffee maker and toaster (my pre-race meal is always an English muffin with peanut butter!) for the morning. I also liked that since each cabin is it's own separate building, it was much quieter and more peaceful than other moderates.

FWIW, I have never stayed at a value, and would probably never choose to for a race weekend because I really enjoy a long soak in the hot tub after a race--and the value resorts don't have hot tubs.

Thank you - I've never stayed at a value either, and I'm not traveling with my family this time, but rather my friend. Without having kids with us, I was thinking moderate would be more up our alley - not as "disney-fied" as the values, and nicer pools!
I was thinking CSR would be a good option transportation-wise. We had such great bus service during our visit at the end of '15.

I haven't run Dark Side, but recommend CSR because it's not far from WWOS and it has nice food and amenities. We stayed at CBR one time, but our experience was not memorable in any good or bad way. I prefer the atmosphere of CSR and the transportation. I have no experience at values.
