Favorite Holiday Shots or Pages?

I am looking for ideas for the rapidly approaching holiday season. What are some of your favorite holiday shots, pages, or traditions? I like that some of my pages are the same year to year, but I am always looking for new ideas into my books.

Same pages I always do:
First snow
Sprinkling reindeer food on the front lawn
DS seeing the same santa
DS making cranberry sauce, though I am looking for a new way to twist this one. I might do more of an interview technique.

I did an album for a class once that was a daily Christmas Journal. If you PM me your email address, I can send you the prompts. (I think I did it 3 years ago, it's still sitting there undone - my goal is to DO it this year!).

I have just an album for Santa pictures.

always take photos of decorating the tree, family shot in front of tree, opening stockings, opening presents, general family shots these all go in the xmas album, usually do 4-5 2 page spreads each year.

I love the Santa album idea! We always see the same Santa so that would be great for us!

we have too....its actually the same Santa I saw as a kid which is wonderful!
megan and I have a deal....she gets her Santa picture taken, he will keep coming....
I bought like 40 pages of the same paper, so I will have enough through the years, its an 8x8 album.

we saw a group of 4 brothers last year all in their 20's, its the one thing their mama always wants from them each year they said..too sweet!

That's a great list! I might have to do something serious about Christmas this year. Usually I make a few pages of miscellaneous stuff - photos that came with the cards, our table, the tree, the gang at the neighbors on Christmas morning having Brandy Alexander's and Swedish tea ring. We take the same pose, every year.

I should set up the camera for our Annual card opening. We don't do gifts any more and it kinda leaves us at loose ends in the morning before we go down the street. So we save up our cards, unopened, and Christmas morning we sit in bed and open all the cards at once! It's like a great visit with all our friends and family and how could we feel sad with that!

It works really well, unless we discover to our chagrin - we've missed a party invitation

your card opening sounds fun, except if you do miss the invitations !!!


xmas will definately be different for us this year without Jim...will be missing him terribly, to hopefully make it a bit better I am having xmas eve at my house for the first time with my family! Megan will be able to wake up in her own bed for the first time EVER! we've always been to my mom's house since she was born.

What a wonderful tradition! When I was little I saw the same Santa every year. He had a real beard, a real "Santa" figure, and smelled of candy canes...all of which were a rarity in those days. When we were in the mall I would look at the kids waiting in line to see "Santa's Helpers" and just smile, because I knew I got to see the REAL Santa.

I love the idea of the same paper throughout as well...that is great!

I am sure Christmas will be hard for you guys...your family will be in my prayers!
