Hello! I thought we could use a little action on the board ;)

What is your favorite excursion on the Eastern Itinerary? Why is it your favorite?

We did the Atlantis sub in St. Thomas and it was really great. We also saw the Screamin' Eagle jet boat ride which looked like a lot of fun. I would love to go to St. John my next time down there.

Captain Nautica!!! Awesome!!!!!

This is a speed boat ride that goes to 3 different snorkeling sites. We went to Buck Island (turtle cove), Shipwreck Cove and the Legends (off of St. James). Turtle Cove and Shipwreck cove are both destinations for 2 other separate excursions. We had about 2 1/2 hours to snorkel. It was first class.

If you have smaller kids, they provide fun doodles/kick boards for those who would like to float about and look in the water.

This was incredible, but not for everyone. It was very bumpy going fast, but that's what made it fun in my opinion. Everyone on board thought so too.

The Eco-tour on Castaway Cay, definately. We learned about the vegetation and the history. We stopped at a sandbar in the middle of the ocean and got to swim and wiggle our toes through the fine, smooth sand. Plus we got to cruise on a waverunner for about an hour.

We had the best time on the Golden Eagle Catamaran in St Maarten. We enjoyed the boat ride over to Flat Island (I think that's the name of it). The crew was fantastic! Very helpful and lots of fun (not to mention good looking ;)) The swimming was great! We could jump/dive right off the catamaran into the crystal clear water. They provided plenty of those water noodles to float on. Great island music all the way there and back - sandwiches and drinks included. I can't say enough good things about this excursion. While St John 5 Star had the most beautiful beach/scenery, the Golden Eagle was definetly the most fun for us.

tinkerbellmagic ~ My MIL wants to do the Golden Eagle Catamaran excursion, but does not want to see any nudity. Will this be a problem on the beach?

I havent been on the cruise, but while on the island, my favorite fun thing is the Americas Cup Racing (St. Maarten), its a blast, we do it every year, sometimes twice!!

Our vote is for the Doubloon Sail and Snorkel! They were awesome and the banana benders, pain killers and tatoos were fun as well! They were great with the kids and the pirate sailboat is really fun!!!!

Ahh yes... I wish I had a pic to post of the hydster and her tatoo!! I will have the scan the one I have.

I will have to agree with tinkerbellMagic!! The Golden Eagle rocks!!!! Although I think the DW may have been a little motion sick on this one (we had rather rough seas on our May 1st cruise), but over all we had a blast.

Well, considering the types of "sitings" I have heard about, I cannot blame her. ;)
We did not see any nudity on this excursion. During the trip over to Flat Island, though, our captain did warn us about the possibility of being exposed to nudity and suggested we turn away if we would be offended. Hope this helps. Maybe others can elaborate on their experiences otherwise.

Bowtie..are you STALKING ME AGAIN???? ROFL

I have a pic of me and my tat on my webshots photos...no blackmail there! LOL:teeth:

As for the nudity..we took our kids to Orient Beach in St. Maarten and there were only a few "old" men who were nude. We warned our kids but they didn't even notice it.

Was this from St. Martin or St. Thomas? And what was the cost? It is a non-Disney excursion, right?

Always!!!! ;) You know i'm a pirate. pirate:

We saw a couple of topless sunbathers, but none completely nude. But a friend who also did the Golden Eagle in July saw a large group, so I guess it is just the luck (or bad luck) of the draw. Basically, if you plan to go, plan on seeing nakedness. To me it really isn't a big deal. It's not like they come up to you a flaunt the fact that they are naked, but if the site makes your MIL that uncomfortable, I would recommend she doesn't go cause the chances are good that you will at least see some.
