i have an ADR at Jiko next month and am trying to figure out if I should keep it. What is the best entree, or at least your favorite?

You should definitely keep your reservation - Jiko is our favorite Disney restaurant by far! They have so many great entrees that we always have trouble choosing - favorites are the elk loin, the filet, and the lamb shank. The wild boar appetizer is also amazing.

Just had the wild boar appetizer and elk entree. Really good. My wife had the halibut, also really good.

We ate at Jiko 3 times ( 2 unplanned, replaced planned BlueZoo and Citricos reservations) last trip, we had all of the entrees except the Koki Corn (not counting both steak options as separate entrees), the winners were the Lamb and the Chicken, someone got the Chicken on the first night and ordered it the other two times, it was so good.

Also if they still have it and you are looking for a mind blowing glass of red wine the Ernie Els Signature Blend under the Rare Pours section was worth every penny.

Malva Puddings won as the superior Dessert and it was the one we were all originally least excited about.

I'm also annoyed they swapped the wild boar for pork tenderloin.

The whole fried fish, which was yellow snapper when we were there, was delicious. My daughter had the elk and raved about it.

The watermelon salad was interesting and the scallop appetizer was very good.

Going in 3 weeks! First time, and as a vegetarian... I cannot wait!

I was there last week and the wild boar (not pork) was on the menu. Had the steak but had considered the chicken and now am upset I didn’t go with that! Next time!!!

We will be going on Thanksgiving for our holiday meal.

The bread service is fantastic. My husband had a short rib dish that was amazing. I had the beef fillet, it was good but my husband's dish was much better.

Ok, y'all got me out of my funk and now I am excited about it. Now I have to decide what to get. LOL

When I go there I get the Taste Of Africa for an appetizer and the elk for a main. My favorite restaurant by far.

My friends the "Wild Boar" is no more, replaced by Bershire Pork, same price. The African grits in the dish still rock, but the dish was not as good as I've had , many times before. I was there in Sep and in Oct and it was pork! So tell me, how did you luck out and get Wild Boar? On their current site menu :

Berkshire Pork Tenderloin

Mealie Pap, Chakalaka, Herb-smoked Oil, Micro Cilantro

The allears menu also shows the wild boar and the menu was updated October 2018 (does't list an exact date) so possibly they have updated it back to the wild boar very recently. I certainly hope so as it is my favorite.

ETA: my favorite entree is the fish in the tomato-butter sauce, I ether get that or I get the wild boar with a side of macaroni and cheese as my entree. We also love the Taste of Africa app.

Lately, I find Disney's menu's are more up to date. I was there on 10/13, I wanted to eat elsewhere but it was my son's 22nd birthday and it's his favorite restaurant. It was pork, we skipped it, but the Elk was delicious as always. I make a version of the tomato butter sauce at home, it's delicious. (Mom's recipe)

Did that just change? We were there 10 days ago and I had the Wild Boar appetizer (and it was very good). It wasn't available as an entree item.

We were there in mid Sept and on 10/13 and it was pork, and it was listed as pork on their menu. So I don't know, perhaps they have issues with availability and sub out the menu's when they can't get the wild boar. We ordered it in Sep and it was pork tenderloin but skipped it in October, because again it was pork. It is an appetizer, not an entree.

When were you there? We were there on 10/13 and like you, it was pork! But others state that they've had the wild boar, something's fishy here!

I was there on 10/20 and wild boar was on the menu. I ordered it, even commented how excited I was it was on the menu to our server. I suppose they could have “tricked” me (there was wine involved, LOL) but the menu definitely said wild boar and I’m pretty sure I would have known if it was pork.

No, they wouldn’t do that. But I think they must have issues getting it in, because my menu clearly said Pork and yours said Wild Boar!

We loved the Oak-fired filet of beef. The red wine sauce was an awesome accompaniment. Jiko had excellent service and great food.
