Favorite DVC resort and why?

but my favorite DVC resort always seems to be wherever I'm staying at the time!(been to all except HH) Go figure!

This might sound like a "cop out' but I have to agree with ez. My favorite is wherever I'm lucky enough to be, been to all but HH also, and hope to check that out soon too.

My favorite is BWV. It's also our "home" resort :) Granted, we've only stayed there once for 4 nights, but I just loved it!! We're staying there again this Oct. and I can't wait :) My DH's favorite is BCV. He likes the decor/theme of BCV better than he likes the decor/theme at the BWV, and he also likes the pool better. I like both pools and I love the BWV theme. I think that we'll eventually add more points by buying into BCV (via resale)...my DH would really like to have the 11 month window at BCV as well as BWV:D

What kind of kitchen did they put in all those other resorts? LITTLE. How do you get to your car in all those other resorts? First you walk, then you wait, then you pay a ransom (tip). Do you like to walk past dirty dishes whenever you go anywhere? Do you like to hear the noises across the hall? I could go on but I've irritated you all enough!

It's inspiring.

DH fav is BWV-location

Truthfully, I'm with some of the rest of you........where ever I happen to be. There are no BAD DVC resorts. If you could take the best of every resort then you would have the perfect resort. But then everyone defines their perfect resort differently.

For an onsite resort, I like BCV. Someone mentioned parking, the parking lot for the Villas is pretty close and has easy access. You don't have to use valet, or cross a bridge. The access to Epcot and MGM is wonderful, and the is lots of activity in the area with teh boardwalk amenities, and all the hotels located close for eating, and fun. Then, of course there is SAB, the Marina, and Jellyrolls with close childcare. No need to pick on other resorts to try to tout the advantage of BCV, it has it's own merits, as certainly do the other resorts have thier merits. And BCV has it's detractions, especially with no GV availability (you'd think they could have had 4 or 4), limited views, and not the largest rooms. But its our favorite.

Perhaps we could put up a poll, which home resort owners give the impression they have the strongest "resort envy"?

All resorts are nice, it's great to have choices.

Our favorite resort is VWL (DVC or non-DVC), and the main reason is..............
The THEME & THEMING.
The theme of a resort has always been one of the highlights of my trip, and VWL/WL does not dissapoint. Paraphrasing another poster here- "it was designed and built by the ultimate imangineer."

disclaimer: have not yet figured out spell check on this new laptop

Like most situations it depends. If it is just my DW and I, we prefer tlhe BCV because of location. Witlh family and extended family it is definitely OKW because of the size of the rooms. The Villas at Okw are awesome!

My fav is BWV! I love to Valet park, love the carpet (lots of hidden Mickeys!).

I also love that when I drink too much at Jellyrolls;) , I only have to take an elevator and walk down the hall and I am HOME!! :D We were HUGE Jellyrolls fans even before we purchased our BWV DVC home, so this was a factor in our decision!

The unit size has never been a factor for us, we have no children so the two of us will stay in a 1 br by our selves. If we bring another couple with us, we get a 2 br, so then there are only 4 of us in the 2 br. We also never use the kitchen for more than breakfast.

I also think that the Boardwalk at night is romantic and MAGICAL! Just love to sit on a bench and enjoy it. :teeth:

A few other things: Spoodles, Flying Fish, the pool slide, the lobby(makes me smile as soon as I arrive!) and the wicker chairs overlooking the Boardwalk off the lobby.

My favorite is any at WDW, slight nod to BCV. DH's is HH (shocking to me-it's not at WDW-where did I get this man?).

Vero Beach is my favorite. I love the beauty of the resort and the beauty of the location. After vacationing at Disney for at least once or twice a year for the past 24 years I am enjoying the change of pace I find at an off site hotel, but with the same attention to detail as I find at a WDW resort (and better customer service than I have been finding at WDW recently).

OKW is still our favorite. We just can't seem to give up the space, parking convenience and lower points totals. I don't mind the location either, but then, I live in the country at home too!:)

Depends on what you are looking for!

- If space, quiet, and a handy car is your preference OKW is for you

- If you want valet parking, room service, multiple restaurant options, and to be closer to the action (walking and/or Boat access) - then VWL, BCV and BWV are all great.

- Close to MK - choose VWL

- Close to Epcot and MGM - BWV and BCV

- Best pool on site - BCV

- And if a beach vacation is what you need, head to Vero or HH!

Personal favorites (and homes) are:

- VWL - love the theme and proximity to MK
- BCV - love walking to Epcot and MGM, easy access to Boardwalk and that GREAT Stormalong Bay pool!

DVC is win - Win - WIN!!! :bounce:

As others have said all the DVC resorts are great and I wouldn't turn down a stay in anyone of them.

But you were asking for each persons personal opinion and my favorite is BCV. I love the themeing and atmosphere of this resort for my Florida vacation. The decor of the resort is beautiful and I even love the smell of this resort, yes the smell. I am not sure what it is, but my Mom and I noticed it on our first stay and then this last time my best friend even mentioned it. Love sitting on beach at night in one of the beach chairs of bench swings and looking out at the Boardwalk. For us the location is the best in the "world".

I have told this story on the boards a few times, but when I first looked into DVC they were selling BWV. I liked the idea of DVC, but there was just something about the Boardwalk, I think it was the noise at night, that just didn't make the Boardwalk "perfect" for me. My guide told me at the time that there were rumors at the time of VWL being built, wondering if that would appeal to me more, I told him that an up North lodge theme was the farthest from something I would want on a Florida vacation (I live in Michigan). After the tour my husband and I stood on the Boardwalk and looked out over at the Beach Club, where we were staying on that trip, and said to him, "if they ever build there, I will be the first in line to buy". Well, as you know they did build there, so I think it was fate for us to buy there and now you know why BCV is my favorite. Just one cavet: I wish I would have gotten the price I would have paid when I looked at BWV.

My favorite is BWV. I love the location, that alone is worth it's weight in gold to me. I love being in the middle of the Epcot resort area. The convenience of having 2 parks within walking distance, the restaurants, boardwalk entertainment etc is priceless to me. I love the boardwalk and the whole Epcot resort area, especially at nighttime when you stroll home from Epcot or MGM, it is beautiful.
I have yet to stay at BCV, which I am sure I will love very much also because it offers all the things I love while on vacation and is also located in the same wonderful location, plus it has the addition of the fantastic SAB. The only disappointment I have with BCV is how close some parts of it were built to the road and therefore are noisy or do not have the greatest views. I also think BCV should have a 2 tiered pt structure like BWV because some of the villas there definitely have a much more preferred view than others.
VWL and the whole WL area I love and think it is Disney theming at it's best. I like the location for MK access and the MK resort restaurants but not as much as the location of the DVC Epcot resorts. When the kids were young we were really into the MK resorts but now we spend much more time in the Epcot/MGM area. This resort at Christmas time can't be beat for its decorations and holiday feel!
OKW I love the 1 BR villas, the kitchen layout, the laundry room in the 1 BR, the porch table and chairs, the conch chowder and the mickey head icon porch railings, but the location and the lack of amenities at this resort does it in for me.
HH I have yet to stay at but I am very anxious to stay there. I like the look of what I have seen of the resort and it will be a relaxing vacation, if I can ever tear myself away from the WDW DVC resorts!
Vero, I am sure is a beautiful resort but I have no urgent rush to stay there solely due to the fact that I live at the seashore. When I am in FL that is not the type of vacation I am looking for. But I am sure I will eventually make my way to Vero. Maybe when I retire and live in FL year round!! :Pinkbounc

You know, I like different resorts for different reasons. I like OKW for its relaxed feel, its lower point costs, and lower maintenance costs. We have 2 contracts with OKW as our home resort, so I guess I'd have to say it's my favorite.

I like the BCV/BWV resorts for their location. You can't beat that "center of the action" feeling.

I like the VWL for the serenity and laid back feel. I feel very much in nature when I am there, which is always relaxing to me.

If DH and I are going alone, we generally go to OKW or VWL. If we are going with a group, we are at BCV or BWV.

I will say, when we were purchasing the DVC, the one question we asked was "If we could never stay anywhere else for the rest of our lives when we came to WDW, what DVC resort would we ALWAYS be happy to stay at?" The answer was OKW.

OKW - it was our first resort and we tend to stay there more than at the others. The size of the rooms is a big plus for us - I like to have lots of room. And we enjoy the relaxing feeling of the resort.
Have yet to stay at HH.

We have points at both OKW and BCV, but our favorite is OKW the size of the rooms, the peace and quite is just prefect for us!! I guess after watching 4 grandchildren 5 days a week, the quite at OKW is just what the doctor ordered!
