I have recently become addicted to Snopes.com and debunking all the e-mail forwards I recieve. The website has a section of urban legends dedicated to Disney. Some of them we know, others I was surprised about, such as no one ever being declared dead on Disney property (not true) and the Matterhorn having a basketball court (true).

That led me to thinking, what is the favorite Disney urban legend everyone has heard? My favorite has to be Walt Disney putting in his will that he would give a large sum of money to the first male human to give birth. :confused3

I haven't heard his head was frozen, but that his whole body was frozen until the medical community was able to cure him. Some versions say his body is in one of the castles. :rotfl: If only we could bring him back... :sad2:

People used to send me all kinds of "true" crazy stories. Snakes in the ball pits at fast food places, "facts", and urban legends. I would go to snopes and other places, find the info that debunked the email and sent it to them. Oddly enough, no one ever thanked me for the correct information and they also stopped sending me stuff. ;) Now, me, I like to know the truth. I don't want to just pass something on and not think about it. I have discovered that most people don't want to think that hard.

I find urban legends fascinating. I even have a whole book about them.

I do the same thing and now people don't send me nearly as much crap. I think either A: they are stupid or B: they like to believe most of that junk is true.

Yeah, I've become one of those people, too. I actually had a almost fight with one of my coworkers who told one of the patients we only use ten percent of our brain capacity. I said that was a myth, but I couldn't really go into it since we were in the middle of group therapy. However, that is a particularly bothersome one for me.
