Eventually you'll likely get all the options, so they are:
Resorts
Boma,
Jiko, Sanaa
Beaches and Cream, Cape May
Big River GRille, ESPN,
Flying Fish, Kouzzina
Shutters
CAli Grille, The Wave
Pepper Market, Maya Grille
Citricos, GF cafe,
Narcoosee's
Olivia's
Kona Cafe, 'Ohana, Kona sushi bar,
Sprit of Aloha Luau
Boatwright's
Turf Club
Artist's Point, Whispering Canyon
Trail's End, Hoop De Doo
CAptain's Grille,
Yachtsman Steakhouse
DTD (all TS that are included in
DDP)
Cap N' Jack's
Planet Hollywood
Raglan Road
Wofgang Puck CAFE (only first floor)
(Wofgang Puck Express is DDP also - but is QS)
I'll exclude Swan and Dolphin, since they are not DDP - even though the dining choices there are great.
Most of the choices are reasonably good, and tastes are often indiviual. Much of the time, eventually every place will get listed. Every place that's on a favorite list will also appear on a list of disliked places, too.
I highlighted double credit places. You can eat at them using DDP, and though htey are slightly pricier and a bit more pricey, you will still find plenty of kids there. Typically though - families with kids tend to dine on the earlier side. (say, before 7pm)
Perhaps my top suggestion to you would be to consider the location. If you are staying deluxe - you should eat at your home resort, and places near it. If you are not staying deluxe, consider how you will get there. you're best picks may well be those that are easiest to get to from your resort. Often you need to take two buses if you use DIsney transportation, which can take over an hour each way.
Among the places I've tried and enjoyed:
Resorts
Boma, Sanaa, Big River Grille,
Flying Fish,
Cali Grille, The Wave, Pepper Market (you get semi- table service for a QS credit- a great deal on DDP!),
Citricos, GF cafe,
Narcoosee's, Olivia's, Kona Cafe, 'Ohana, Kona sushi bar, Boatwright's, Whispering Canyon, Captain's Grille
DTD Wofgang Puck CAFE (only first floor)
(Wofgang Puck Express is DDP also - but is QS)
About the only place I really disliked was Kouzzina. Most of the others I eliminated because I've never tried them.
If you have a car, I would suggest trying at least one of the lesser known places like Olivia's, Boatwright's, The Wave, and Sanaa. Those are likleyto be the least crowded.
If you are looking for fun without characters, but something that will give you some entertainment - consider the two dinner shows. I've never been to the luau, but Hoop De Doo sure is fun! The food is not the best there, but the show is a hoot! You can also spend time exploring the campground! It's a destination unto itself. The whole Boardwalk area is also very pretty at night and is agreat place to spend a non-park evening. If you don't wnat to do a TS credit, there are QS options there too. The Brewpub, ESPN and Beaches/Cream all do not take ADR's.
