My DH and I would really like to stay in one of the deluxe resorts next summer. Problem is we can't make up our minds which one we want to stay at. Every time we think we know which one we prefer, we see something that appeals to us at one of the others. SO, what is your favorite deluxe resort and why? All suggestions are welcome.

I have 2, WL & CR.

First, I'd recommend deciding which area you want to stay, Epcot or MK. That will reduce your list by about 1/2. Look at the themeing and decide what you like best!

We have a small child, so we like the MK area. When she's older, I would like to try the Epcot area.

Our favorite resort is the Contemporary for several reasons:

Location
View from tower
Restaurants
Concourse area/shopping
Ease of travel to MK (walkway)
Monorail access
Pools
Arcade
Room size
Activities (boats, etc.)

The Poly! The theming is incredible, view of the castle right infront of you, great restaurants, and oh yeah..... the volcano pool!

It may be older, but IMHO it's the best!

I have two favorites as well. I love both the Grand Floridian and the Animal Kingdom Lodge, even though they are very different in terms of theming. Here are the things I love about each resort:

Grand Floridian--

Convenience of the monorail
Beautiful resort theming
Pampered atmosphere
Beautiful room decor
Large rooms with pretty marble vanity areas
Orchestra that plays in the lobby in the evenings
People telling me to "Have a Grand Day" LOL!

Animal Kingdom Lodge--

Wonderfully detailed exotic theme
Fantastic smell of foods baking that drifts up to the lobby
Amazing experience of seeing animals right outside your balcony (savannah view)
Feeling that you're "away from it all"

My next runners up would probably be the BoardWalk Inn and the Polynesian. We love to split our trips so we can benefit from the different amenities/locations/theming at more than one resort per trip. For instance, one of our favorite things to do is to split our stay between a Magic Kingdom area resort and an Epcot area resort so we can be very close to both our favorite theme parks. :)

Lots of good choices. Hard to pick. Disney has done an excellent job on their delux resorts.

I agree. The Grand Floridian and the AK Lodge are my favorites. I love the Grand Floridian for it's sophisticated atmosphere, convenience to the Magic Kingdom and Epcot via monorail, great restaurant choices, and absolute beauty. I also think the atmosphere at the Animal Kingdom Lodge can't be beat. It's like you are in a different world. It's just not as convenient since it requires a bus or car to all the parks and other resorts. I would suggest if you are staying at the Animal Kingdom to get a deluxe savanna view room. They aren't that much more expensive and you'll get the space you need to be comfortable as well as a glorious view of the savanna. And don't forget to make priority seating at Jikos and Boma, both great choices for dining.

I have only stayed at the Beach Club, WL, and AKL, but I voted for the Yacht Club! While we stayed at the BC, DH and I walked over to the YC (right next door) and fell in love! What a beautiful, SERENE place. Who knew SERENE even existed in Disney? It had such a crisp and comfortable feel all at the same time.

Thanks everyone! I am just glad we have a few months before we have to make ressies! It is going to be a tough choice! They just all seem to appeal to me in some way. The Dolphin appeals to DH but I am not sure which one I think I will like most! :confused3

My 2 favorites are the Polynesian and the Boardwalk.

I've actually been leaning toward the boardwalk lately. I love going to Jellyrolls, we usually go there once or twice each visit. Plus walking distance to Epcot, and Beaches and Cream.
