I just got off the Magic (2/3-2/10) and LOVED IT! I know everyone raves about their servers and stateroom host/hostess but what about other staff members you met and interacted with on the cruise?

We enjoyed hanging out with many members of the staff. The entertainment staff - Pikey, Charley, Natalie, Shaika, Carlos - were wonderful. Hopefully I spelled the names correctly.

Doug the tech (mainly from Studio Sea) was very friendly. Very informative about Pirates of the Caribbean.

But we LOVED LOVED LOVED Paul from Australia. He is a bar server mainly at Rockin Bar D. See him if you can. He is so friendly and (for the ladies) so cute, too!

Who did you meet? And miss already?

(tried to add pic - no can do!)

When we cruised in November (05 & 06) we really enjoyed meeting Keyon of the Entertainment Staff. Was he still onboard???

I had a blast on the Disney Magic (sail date 2-3-07). I will never be able to play Bingo the same way again. I think that everytime I hear B-11 called I'll have to break out with Pikey's B-11 cheer! :cheer2:

Well, I have been on 3 trips on the Magic now and I can say that Glendene and Mikey and the head server sorry can't remember his name mostly because I couldn't pronounce it. We all had the oportunity to meet the head chef in Luminars two night. We did have the 8:30 seating. He made us some specials items that weren't even on any of the menues. It was great for all the special treatment and we were even anyone special.

Hats off to our service staff.

The entertainment staff was much better than our last cruise. Even the new ones earning their ears. Great times in Rock'n Bar D. We had so much fun and now need a week to recover.

Hope everyone else has wonderful cruises like we did.

I just created a thread that I will use to post pictures of Pikey and the rest of the cruise staff from the 2/3/07 Eastern as soon as my home DSL line is upgraded. I have a great photo of everyone from Pub Night.

Our serving staff was excellent! Clive and the asst Server with the name I couldn't pronounce were on top of everything.

Here are some of the folks we had the pleasure of meeting on our cruises:

Alun and Corrine from the Wonder, 11/05:

Patricio (or as we called him, El Tigre) and Fabio from the Magic, 11/06:

Keyon was on the Magic for the 1/20/07 eastern service. He's a sweetheart.

I also adored Pikey and Ian from the entertainment crew (Ian should be on the Wonder by now, though).

I adored our servers Sompong (Sammy) from Thailand and Rodel from the Philippines.

We had Glendene when we cruised in Nov. '05 and she was absolutely fabulous!

We sailed 1/20/07 Eastern run and LOVED our servers Dante (Phillipines) and Cloverly (Jamaica). In fact they were so incredible, we've requested them for our next trip 2/9/08, Western Caribbean.
Also had a blast with Pikey, Charlie, and Michael--esp when Mike let the kids push him in the pool for correctly answering trivia questions!

We just got home yesterday from 2 weeks of sailing on the Magic. I would say that the current cruise staff is second to none. On my prior three cruises, I never had the chance to interact with the staff as I did this time. I think it was the staff's personality that made them more than approachable.

Had I not found this thread, I would have begun my own. I really wish it were in the regular cruise board instead of the tr board since I think many people planning their cruise would benefit from reading this and is probably overlooked by many.

Let me start off by saying that Trent is awesome. His personality and wit are a winning combination! DJ Mike does a spectacular job spinning the sounds for everyone as well as interacting with the guests (friends!). Pikey -- what can I say -- Pikey is just PIKEY! He does anything for a laugh! The girls . . . . no, Natalie and Shaika are not sisters but they do look similar!

Natalie has such spunk! She is wide-eyed and bushy-tailed whether she is in the Buena Vista Theatre at 7:15 AM on a tendering morning, asking each guest as they arrive if they have their KTTW, photo ID, towels, their family and are ready to leave or at midnight as she is dressed in her 60's, 70's or 80's costume in Rockin Bar D. Let's not forget the dancing in the sun at the Goofy Pool during parties, conducting classes in the Promenade lounge with the kiddies who tell her, "get off my stage" and directing people to stay on the left when walking to the beaches at Castaway Cay! Natalie has a way of making sure you are well informed as you wait for word of your tender. She took very good care of us during our two weeks. She always gave us a friendly wave even when we weren't close by to her. Kudos to Natalie!!

Christian is terrific as cruise director. He has such a presence and let me tell you . . . I think he saw me each and every time I was on my laptop on the Internet! He makes one heck of a pirate too!

Oscar -- the Latin sensation! You have to catch him in Rockin Bar D on Friday nights to hear him sing!

Most overlooked event . . . the standing room farewell performance in Diversions at 10:45 on Friday night. Not to be missed!!!

I know that Natalie reads the boards from time to time . . . thanks for all the fun that you and the staff provided for Ed and I for the last two weeks!!!

One of the highlights of the cruise for my 6 year old dd was when Christiaan talked to her in the Oceaneers Lab. She told everyone that she got to talk to Christiaan.

Also loved our dining room servers, Sammy (Sampong) and Rodel, and Sylvester in Palo.

The 11 night Wonder in the fall had a great group. Clayton (Hollywood), Ian, Belle were especially great from the cruise staff. Brent was the CD and Christiaan was the Assistant CD. The cruise staff makes the differance between a good cruise and a great cruise. This ended up like an All Star Cruise Staff.

Christiaan all the way. My DD 4 just had to see her Christiaan every day and every night. He was so kind to give her a "special get well" message on our camcorder during pirate night since she was stuck in our room for 24 hours with a stomach bug. He really made her feel special. As for the servers we had Densak and Beethoven which were great but they just couldn't top Zaldy from our 2005 cruise.

Glendene was our server on the Magic in April 06 and she was wonderful. We were back on board Feb 3 and she remembered us - came over when we walked into Luminere's the first night and gave us a hug!!! She was awesome.

This year we had Clive who was also wonderful. Our assistant seemed to be new and clueless but Clive did a great job!

Where do I start, Just off last week and we had the best service team in the restaurants, Cornwall from St. Vincent awesome service deserved all of his tip and more. His assistant was Abraham a little shy at first but warmed up real quick. The Diversions crew working overtime, Paul, Charly, what a great bunch of guys, however I am sorry I missed the last night due to packing not being done. I anyone on the Ship now is reading this please stop by Diversions and say hi to Paul and Charly from Norm and Joshua (last weeks Eastern). Beverly was our stateroom hostess, one of the best if not the best we ever had. Sorry to say that due to my son getting 4 stitches last week I would have to say the Medical staff was outstanding, I believe his name was Dr. Rael. And last but not least Fidel, he was the Deck waiter if that is what they call them, everytime I needed something to drink on deck I saw Fidel and he hooked us up. That is all for now.

I almost forgot about Christiaan, what a great Cruise Director, everytime I saw him he would stop and say Hi. Apparently the is a new game out there called "The six degrees of Kevin Bacon" or something like that, but he could tie any actor or actrees to Kevin Bacon in less than 6 movies, that was incredible.

Talk at you later...
Norm
