Favorite Crew Member?

Erika is great. There is another server from South Africa at Palos who is also great. Think his name is Andrew but can't remember. Also, we loved Ricardo in the children's program. He was very attentive and helpful with my son.

Just returned from 9/28 mystery cruise also. We loved our servers Pragalen from South Africa and Maria from Hungary. Our stateroom hostess, Kristina from Croatia, was FANTASTIC! She even taught our daughter how to make those funny towel animals!

Thanks again to the entertainment cruise staff. Unfortunately, we didn't have the great experience with our room steward or food servers. However, it was still a great trip. I hope Disney management is reading these posts and letting the staff mentioned receive the credit they deserve!!!!!:smooth:

From the Wonder, I LOVED Mic from Italy (a little too much, DH might say). he was so amazing with our kids, it was great. I kept trying to get him to tell me where the staff bar was, but he kept his lips zipped about that. LOL!

Also George from India who was very reserved but extremely eager to please. Brought three desserts so we could try them all! And my memory of him doing the limbo at Parrot Cay is priceless... wish I'd remembered my camera! :D

My kids met several employees and their children on the Magic. They told them they weren't to eat or drink in front of passengers. A few kids were visiting their dad and they were from England. My girls got a kick about the fact that these kids were "living" on the ship for a few weeks. Sounds like a dream doesn't it?
They got to walk them back to their rooms a few times. Evidently (?) their rooms are on several decks (behind crew member only doors).

Many times the ship's officers will bring their families onboard for a few weeks. The week we sailed the Captain had his wife onboard. Also one of the VIP's of DCL was onboard and he had his family onboard as well (his DD was hanging around with our kids).

I think it is a nice thing since they are away from home for so long at a time. I even know one of the CM's was finished with her contract but her finance was still working onboard so she stayed onboard for a few weeks just "hanging out" until his contract was done.

We were on the Wonder Sept.8th. We really enjoyed our head waiter, Ferhat from Turkey. He was so good with my children.

Our room steward was great too. His name is Miguel.
I can't wait to go again in January!!!!!
Donna:smooth:

On our last cruise, Christmas of 2001 we had the best in all catagories. Ritesch, Head Server Sudama, Asst. Server Garry, Room Steward. They were hands down the best, they were part of our family by the time we departed.
:D :D :D :D :D

Harry from the OC Lab was Fantastic on the 9/28 cruise. We even got to spend time with him in the airport (we were on the same flight) as he traveled home on holiday to South Africa.

*Harry if you see this, thanks for a great week and the kids really enjoyed having sometime with you in the airport, it made their magical vacation last a little longer. Enjoy your holiday and for Disney's sake and for all future cruisers sake, I hope you renew your contract.

That's a really sweet message ML:D

Just back from the Magic and have to add some names.

Our servers were Sachin from India and Dragan from Macedonia. Though Dragan was not feeling well the last half of the cruise, they gave us top notch service, more food than we could eat, and were charming as well. My 11 yo DD wanted to stay on board with them, Sachin kept calling her "little sister". She had a bad headache on Tropical night, and he loaded up a tray (extras too!) and brought it to our room, so we were able to eat from the dining room menu.

Our room steward was Marilyn, she was efficient and sweet and we had fantastic towel animals every day.

At Palo's we had Gabriela for brunch and Marco from Italy for dinner. Both were charming and attentive. Marco brought requested extras for our dining companions, though I overheard the head server (?) questioning him about it.

My DD thought Abu in the Lab was hilarious, and we went to Bingo mainly to see the antics of Robin, Ian, Ellen, and co. DH and I won the Match Your Mate game, and the host (John?) had the audience rolling.

The entertainers were great, Michael Harrison (ventriloquist) was so funny I couldn't catch my breath.

We sailed two years ago and Erika was our server at Palo. This time (we just got back on Saturday) we had Maurizo (who was also excellent) and we asked about Erika. He brought her over to us and she has gotten married!! We also did the brunch and requested Erika and she made us a wonderful Stalinbread with jam, whipped cream and berries. The only other table that had this wonderful concoction was a table Erika had. At dinner I asked our tablemates about the Stalinbread and no one made them this wonderful sweet that I will ALWAYS remember.

Ian was a HOOT! Everytime I saw him I was so marvelled at the energy! There was a quite amusing incident when he was working the crowd before an excursion and someone mentioned that their favorite football team was the Packers. Boy, did he twist that around! TOO FUNNY!

Sylvester was our server and he was so wonderful to make everyone happy and feel great. My husband was starting to feel a little jealous near the end of the cruise ;-) Just kidding - but he did make everyone feel special.

Sorry this is so long, but it felt so good to remember the people I spent a week with and it already seems so long ago.

Hey Diana!

You won Match Your Mate! How funny was that? That was a fun night on the ship! What were some of your questions?

Every CM we met was wonderful. Each time I went to guest Services I was amazed at the attention to deail and helpfulness of these folks. The CM on deck were very attentive, but never too much, if you know what I mean.;)
Our servers: Aron and Miklos, wonderful!!! Great with the kids. And there were 4 at our table. Thier service was nothing short of amazing. Although we teased them at times, they were truely a lot of fun.
Personal note, My daughter celebrated her 12th birthday on "formal night". She was dressed in her first grown-up gown. After the Happy Birthday song, Miklos made a point of kissing her hand, because she was now "a lady". Later that night I asked her if she had a good birthday, she replied, "Mom, it was the best day of my life". Thanks Miklos!!!!!!!!!;)
Our stateroom hostess was Leonisa. We called her Leo. What a nice lady! Our room was always neat and clean, she took care of every request, and looked after the kids when they were in the room by themselves.
We've booked again for next Oct. Can't wait!!!

Hi

TwinAve - we had Aron and Miklos too - They were the best. They were great with the kids. Sammi just adored Miklos.

Kate was our stateroom hostess. Our favorite towel animal was the monkey. Even though our stateroom was tiny, we kept most of the animals "alive" and placed them on the bed for a picture - sort of like a "stateroom jungle".

jlawall - Most of the humor was supplied by the "long married" couple, the guy was a riot. We had a question about the "most exotic place you have experienced the Magic?" The 39 years married guy said some strange place, and his wife came out and guessed about 3 other (stranger) places before getting the right one! Their grown son was in the audience, it was so funny! We also got questions about most annoying habit, what your wife is wearing tonight (newlywed guy said "g string" first), and some multiple choice ones that were pretty funny. The audience was really into it, we ladies could hear the laughter in Rockin Bar D from Sessions. We won two medallions and some cheap champagne we didn't drink, wish they would have given us the Fairytale Cuvee! The rest of the cruise, someone we didn't know would stare at us and then tell us they liked "our show"! I told my husband that a lot of strangers knew some intimate details about our lives, and we didn't even know which ones! It was fun though. I think I need to do a trip report! Diana

On our cruise last February our friends won the Match Your Mate Game. They were the newlywed couple!!! We were a group of 17 and we were all in audience. The "newlyweds" had to divulge some secrets I don't think they wanted his mom to hear, but hear she did!!!! It was John's first time hosting that show and you would never have known it!!! He was fantastic. He had the whole audience rolling!!!

There is whole another thread just about this game show called, obviously, Match Your Mate that was started a few weeks ago.

MJ

You know, I really wanted to play this game with my husband and the more I'm hearing about it, the more I'm glad we didn't get in. John hosted on our cruise and I can't believe it was only his second time. It was really funny for us as well. Who is the regular host of this show?

Joanne,

Did John say it was only his second time hosting on the 8/10 cruise??? I thought he was hosting on and off since our last February 23rd cruise, not our 8/3 cruise but I am not 100% sure. I thought it might be fun to do but my hubby was dead set against it!!!! In the end I am also glad we were not picked!!!! Hubby was picked for the belly flop competition!!! Luckily he did not win, because if he did I would never let him live it down!!!

I think the cruise staff rotates the hosting of Match Your Mate. On our 8/3 cruise it was Sean.

MJ

Ok here's my run down:

Sean from S Africa was great. We were the only one's to show up for an impromtu trivia game and had a great time.
This year Sheshe had tons of energy and remembered us evry time we saw her in the hallways.

Palo's: Erika (S. Africa) is fabulous. Andrew (also from S Africa) was also great. He and his wife - who works in the shops - went on vacation as of Sept 28.
Salvatore and Marco - brothers from Italy can be a riot.
Mauritzio ( Australia ) - great
Nadege and Stephan ( France ) also very good
Louise - whom we did not have this year but still came over to talk when she found out we have a friend and former CM in common.

Servers: Loved Lorenzo ( Italy ) and Attilla ( HUngary ). Previous servers that we saw and talked to were Jean ( France ) - beyond compare - and Jeff ( Kenya ) - too funny once you get him warmed up.

Assistant servers: Darius - although he was new in September I think he is going to be REALLY good.
Toar - we had him last Sept and he recognized us as he was walking by serving a different station in the same dining room.

Cabin Steward: I have always liked Carlos but I can't remember where he was from. He came to Disney from RCCL because he figured it would be more family friendly and he really enjoys having all the kids around.
