We are not doing the dining plan and probably will only have one big meal a day. So we'll need to eat counter service mostly. Please tell me your favorite counter service spot, and if there is a particular meal that you LOVE, please tell me that too.

Thank you!

We love CS meals, some I think are better than TS meals. Please just because you are not doing TS please consider Trails End Buffett in Fort Wilderness. This is a very affordable buffe, you will need an ADR though, just and idea.

Some of our favorite CS resturants are...
Flame Tree BBQ- 1/2 chicken is out of this world :thumbsup2 and lets not mention the onion rings!!!!!
Cantina de San Angel- epcot cs in Mexico- great:thumbsup2 and very affordable
Casey's hotdogs in MK, we never miss this one
Rays Starlight Cafe in MK, my sons favorite, has the fixin's bar
pizzafari-the best breadsticks

We also love eating around the world in Epcot. We just grab little things as we go around. Don't forget to get kids meals for breakfast or whenever. Also, adult meals can be so big you can split, so split 2 for breakfast and 2 for your other meal.

Our favorite quick-service at the MK is Cosmic Ray's. The only thing I don't like about it is having to wait in several lines if you're getting different items (i.e., one side is chicken, one is burgers, etc.). Dh and I usually divide and conquer when we eat here, LOL! ;)

At AK, we like Pizzafari. Dh and ds get the pizza, I get a chicken salad. :thumbsup2

At Epcot, we always eat at Electric Umbrella. I know a lot of people don't like it here (?) but they're one of the few places that still have grilled chicken sandwiches, and we all love the cookies you can buy for dessert. Plus, there's lots of seating and large restrooms, and it's close to MouseGears! :woohoo:

As far as the Studios go, well, we don't eat there. There's absolutely nothing there that appeals to us. (Except the McD's fries, LOL!!)

Here is a list of the counter service locations my family and I enjoy going to.

Magic Kingdom: Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe.

Epcot: Electric Umbrella.

Hollywood Studios: ABC Commissary.

Animal Kingdom: Flame Tree Barbecue & Pizzafari.

Downtown Disney Marketplace: Earl of Sandwich.

Grand Floridian: Gasparilla's Grill & Games.

Out of those locations I would say we enjoy Earl of Sandwich the best because their prices are very reasonable when it comes to dining in Walt Disney World and their sandwiches are also very good.

MK:
Cosmic Rays love there rotiserie chicken
Pecos Bills They have a great fixins bar includes sauted mushrooms & onions

Epcot:
Yorkshipe Country fish & chips
American Pravilion not because of food but because of the fife & drums. They do have a really good apple pie.

Studios:
Backlot has great turkey sandwich
Studio Catering has a variety of different things other than hamburger

Animal Kingdom:
Pizzafari
Flame tree bar bq

The best counter service by far is at Coronado Springs. You can get a grilled rib eye, baked potato, and grilled vegetables. Check out there menu. It is worth a trip over there.

AK- Flame Tree Bar-B-Que
MK- Pecos Bill
Hollywood- never have
Epcot/Future World- The Fountainview Bakery
time it right and you'll see the "dance of the fountains"
Epcot/WS - Cantina de San Angel

MK-Pinnochio Village Haus-good pizza and salad

Epcot-Yorkshire Fish and Chips-very authentic
Yakatori House in Japan-excellent!

DHS-we tried ABC Commissary but the burger were not that good

AK-Flame Tree BBQ, the view of Mt.Everest was awesome

These are just a few of my favorites:

AK- Flame tree BBQ-- Ribs with baked bean and corn bread, -- very good-- also i am a big fan of the BBQ grilled chicken salad w/ a side of Onion rings which are very good

DS- we always eat at pizza planet its a tradition-- i know a lot of people don't like this but its a good deal like 7 or 8 dollars for a personal pan pizza, w/ a salad-- its a cute place to eat and i like the pizza but thats just my opinion

MK- Pecos Bills-- i love the grilled chicken wrap very good, and they have a very good fixings bar:)

Epcot- Liberty Inn-- they have your basic hamburgers, hotdogs, chicken sandwhichs-- but it seems to be relaxing in this area of the park and a little peaceful

Downtown Disney-- we love Earl of Sandwhich-- we always have to go there at least a few times a trip-- i always get the all american-- turkey with cheddar cheese, buttermilk ranch dressing with cranberry sauce -- delicious!!!

if you have any other questions feel free to ask:)

Magic Kingdom - Columbia Harbor House in Liberty Square, get the Lighthouse Sandwich. Super yummy broccoli slaw with hummus and tomatoes on the best crunchy whole wheat bread. One of my favorite meals at Disney (and healthy to boot!!!)!

Epcot - Tangierine Cafe in Morocco. Get the chicken schwarma platter - more food than one person could possibly eat and plenty for 2 to share as a whole meal. Plus there ususally isn't much of a line, and baklava for dessert! I like to get a plate for dinner and then camp out for Illuminations.

Animal Kingdom - Not original at all here, Flame Tree BBQ (used to like Tusker House but now it's a buffet). Everything is good, and there is lots of outdoor seating by the water, lovely place to take a little break.

MGM - Meh. Never had anything to write home about here.

Favorites outside the parks -
Earl of Sandwich in DTD - Cannonballs!
Wolfgang Puck Quick service at DTD

Any good CS spots at the Boardwalk area?

Keep the list going - I am writing these all down :)

I'm so glad you started this thread! We're going in September and this is exactly the kind of stuff I was hoping to find here! I hope you get lots of responses! My husband is the 'picky' eater and although we have ADR's for table service restaurants I have a feeling we'll be dining most nights without him - so I need to feed him at the parks!

Our favorite CS spots are:

MK: Columbia Harbour House. This place is a gem! Also Cosmic Ray's because of the huge selection.

Epcot: I love eating in Japan but that's more for the ginger cake (yummmmmmmmm) than the teriyaki chicken (altho also yum). I love the chicken in China but am not a fan of the ice creams. Also the CS in the land has a greatttt selection and lots of awesome desserts. DF loves Mexico and Morocco CS. For snacks, France is great! And the Fountainview Ice Cream!

MGM: We eat at Backlot Express. Not a ton of choices for CS here imo. I've also grabbed some pizza over by ToT and at Pizza Planet - both of those are fair.

AK: Still searching! We didn't like the Yak & Yeti CS place - YUCK. Altho the mango pie was very yummy. We've eaten at Pizzafari and Flame Tree and both are edible but not super great.

DTD: Captain Cooke's is great if you want shrimp! DF really likes the sandwiches at Earl of Sandwich too.

MK Casys

Epcot Tangereine cafe (Morraco)

MGM Never had anything there, I go over to epcot for eith TS or CS

AK FLame tree BBQ

That is exactly what I will bw doing for my Christmas vacation for all of my CS with my DDP:)

Not only is Flame Tree yummy, but it's a good bargain.

Cosmic Ray's is definitely our favorite at MK, but Pinocchio Village Haus has great panini's which are a nice change of pace from the typical CS fare.

;) Epcot: We love the Electric Umbrella, not for the food as much as it signals the beginning of our tour around Epcot. We usually get Breakfast or burgers there and it is OK. We also have liked the egg rolls in China at the CS restaurant beside Nine Dragons.

MK: Casey's has the best Hot Dogs in the World.:worship:

DHS: We have always been pleased with Prime Time although it is not CS. I have gotten desert at the bar when walking in for a snack.

AK:Don't do Counter service here usually have ADRs for Rainforest--they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner.

DTD: Mc Donald's ...I know, I know but there is just something special about eating there.. Getting a Blizzard and knowing you are at WDW. DH loves the large Parfait you can get there, too.

We usually don't do dining plan and most of our CS meals are breakfast.

AK: Flame Tree BBQ (nice, quiet seating by the water and the menu has a nice variety)
MK: Columbia Harbor House (check for seating upstairs which has a nice view, and CHH also has a lot more than the typical pizza, burgers and fries at CS spots)
DHS: We don't eat CS here. At lunch, the Sci Fi really isn't that much more expensive than CS, and for a few more bucks you get to dine in a really neat atmosphere. We love the milkshakes!)
EP: Sunshine Seasons (amazing variety, great desserts and something for almost everyone)

At DTD, Wolfgang Puck Express is like a TS/CS combination, but at CS prices. A fantastic menu and really high quality food. Try the creme brule!

At Coronado Springs, their Pepper Market is also a fantastic option. They have sooo much variety and everyone I know loves it.

If you're staying at a Disney resort, their food courts are usually pretty decent too.

Have fun on your trip!

MK: Casey's...yummy hot dogs & fries (a family tradition for us. ;) ) and Pecos Bills..The burgers are ok but we load them up with stuff from the fixins bar & they seems to taste better. They also have a yummy salad with chicken if you want something light.
Epcot: Possibilities are endless here...Sunshine Season @ the Land is one of our fave's..everybody finds something they like. I had a fabulous sandwhich and some fresh fruit. Mexico for some Nachos & a Churro. England has decent Fish N Chips...they probably taste better than they are with the Bass Ale I must have there.;) ..We are trying the CS @ Morrocco & Japan this year for the first time.
AK: We love love love Flame Tree.
DHS: Nothing fabulous...we usually eat at Pizza Planet..average pizza with a salad. Gets us through the day...we usually schedule a yummy TS for dinner somewhere on the day we are here.
Downtown Disney...We absolutely love Wolfgang Pucks Express. I love the salads and pizza.
