Favorite Counter Service restaurants at RESORTS?

POFQ - to die for taco salad and the muffaletta served hot with macaroni salad is my favorite!

I LOVE the food court at Port Orleans - French Quarter.

They have the best ribs at any counter service - better than Cosmic Ray's or Flame Tree BBQ. They're soft, fall off the bone, and have a wonderful BBQ sauce! Yum! They come with two sides, and I like getting a double side o macaroni and cheese because it's so creamy and buttery and delicious there. And it comes with cornbread too!

A lot of people like beignets for dessert too.

POFQ has a wide selection of food, and if you like diet drinks but are sick of diet coke and light yellow lemonade, here they have both light pommegranate lemonade and diet sprite.

It's also not particularly crowded... we were there just days before Christmas and never had a problem having a choice of tables to pick from.

They've also got a corner set up for the kids with a coloring station and some legos to build with... and it was never too crowded for my kids to join the few that were there. My kids even had the kids area to themselves a few times.

While value resort food courts have decent selections, the atmosphere is miserable... too crowded and busy and noisy... I felt like the selection you have to choose from at POFQ was just as good, if not better.

And if you're in Downtown Disney, you can just hop on a boat for a relaxing ride to POFQ.

POFQ CS has become our favorite resort CS restaurant. My DD8, DD6, and I all are in love with the Taco salad too while my DH likes the double cheeseburger and fries. I am so excited that we are staying here in March because I have been dying to try the beignets that everyone is talking about. :cool1: And the atmosphere is amazing at POFQ, after you are done eating take a stroll around the grounds or hop onto the ferry and take a very nice, and relaxing, ride to DTD.

Another vote for POFQ. Wherever we stay, on site or off site, we wind up here for lunch or dinner. The kids love the food selections and the atmosphere. Little ones love the coloring and lego corner. I have to admit, the selections are nice.

It is never crowded and the 6 of us always have a pick of a table.

Our #1 choice.

Granted I've only been to 4 resort CS places, but I wouldn't go out of my way for any of them. They were fine - enough to get you through if you were staying there, but seriously not worth travelling to get to. Just my 2 cents.

I don't think we'll be going out of our way for anywhere, but if we're done with a park and need something to eat, we might prefer to go to another resort and try something different than eat the same foods we've had before. :) I mean, we'll have to eat somewhere! :goodvibes

Gotcha - absolutely. I love taking a peek at the different resorts. I will say that the hummus I had at the Mara was just delicious. You can also get zebra domes there, so if you're in the AKL, it might be worth it to swing by for a snack.

Our family loves the Riverside Mill at POR for the muffalettas and taco salads and Columbia Harbour House in MK for the fish and chips. Yum!!

Captain Cook's at the Poly, Riverside Mill at POR, Intermission at the ASMovies (really!), and Artist's Palette at Saratoga Springs. We quite often leave the parks and go to one of these resorts for lunch.

We thought the food ct at POP was pretty darn good, that parm crusted chicken is very good- both in a salad and with pasta.
Our all time favorite CS is Wolfgang Puck Express in DTD, we usually try and get there twice a trip, the pizza plus a salad could easily be shared as could most of the other meals, we have enjoyed breakfast leftovers a few times...

POP Century- I loved the chicken and pasta and the huge sundaes. DH loved the fish sandwich and the huge sundaes.

POR - Make your own pasta was tasty and HUGE as were their sundaes.

Saratoga has great salads and sandwiches...but Wolgang Express.. is the best!!!

I agree with those who like Capt. Cook's at Poly, but my favorite is Hurricane Hanna's at BC. Yum! You can order a Beaches & Cream cheeseburger without trying to get a seat at Beaches & Cream.

Love the Mara at AKL for the slightly different offerings it has than the usual CS, PLUS it also has the AMAZING butternut squash soup that they serve at Boma. My favorite soup in the world!

I agree with Hurricane Hannah's. Grab a spot and watch the world go by, while eating a delicious cheeseburger! DH loved the burgers and DS and I ordered off the kids menu. For anyone watching their weight the kids menu has a great turkey sandwich.

My wife and I really like the food courts at POP and POR. We also LOVE Wolfgang Puck Express at DD, it's relatively inexpensive and the food is awesome, in our opinion.
