Hi everyone-
I'm wondering what some good choices would be at MGM for a cheap lunch. We've tried ABC Commisary before, it wasn't bad but wasn't great. It's just DH and me, neither of us is a very picky eater if that helps! Or would you recommend Sci-Fi over counter service? Thanks for any opinions:smooth:

We like the Backlot Express. It is counter service not far from Star Tours. It used to be better when they had a full fixings bar, but now it is limited (ketchup, mustard, things like that). They used to have melted cheese and sauteed onions & peppers.

I believe that someone posted earlier about Starring Rolls at MGM serving a premade lunch such as : sandwich, chips or fruit and drink for I believe for under $7.00. Someone correct me if I am wrong...

A plus for the Backlot Express - most folks don't run into it so it isn't very crowded.

They do serve okay burgers at Rosie's, over near TOT.

I'm not a big fan of the food at MGM, so I'd say save the $ you'd spend at Sci Fi and eat counter service...We like the chili dogs from the stand near Tower of Terror. :)

We haven't eaten counter service at MGM since 92 because we find the table service restaurants to be too good to pass up. Try the Sci-Fi or Prime Time...you won't be disappointed.

We had some of the best hot dogs I've ever had at the Toluca Turkey Legs stand on Sunset Blvd. Much better than your average concession stand-type food.

I don't much care for any of the counter service places at MGM, however, Starring Roles Bakery do a pretty good selection of food. If you want a piece of the grapefruit cake from Hollywood Brown Derby but don't want to eat there, someone will run in and get a piece for you.

DH and I enjoyed a BBQ chicken pizza at Catalina Eddies which is right next to ToT.

Thanks everyone! Sounds like a lot of you feel the same way about the food at MGM as I do! But I've got some new ideas now!

Another vote for Backlot Express.
