Favorite Concert

I've seen a lot of great concerts, but the most special was Paul McCartney. Just couldn't believe I was seeing one of the Beatles! :lovestruc

Been to so many great ones, but my favorite was David Bowie's Sound + Vision Tour in the early ninties. Love the Thin White Duke!!

Wow. I've been to soooo many. Let's see...

The Atlantic Records 40th Anniversary Concert.

Def Leppards first US concert after Rik Allens accident.

In no particular order...

Aerosmith at Nassau Colesium in December, 1989.

Extreme at the Orpheum Theatre in Boston, October, 1990 With Alice In Chains as the opening act!

Sevendust, HoB, New Years Eve, 2005

Breaking Benjamin, HoB, October 2006

Velvet Revolver, Meadowlands Arena, December, 2004

KoRn, Hard Rock Live, March, 2006

Anne

Trans Siberian Orchestra and their tours at Christmas time...AWESOME!!!!

Some of my favorite concerts were Billy Joel(in the 80's), Journey, and James Taylor.

Def Leppord and Journey are coming soon, and I talked my DH into getting tickets. I guess I want to relieve my childhood

This is a tough one! I've been to a lot of concerts over the years and I like lots of different kinds of music. I saw Barry Manilow twice in the 80s and he put on an awesome show. Other stand outs...Styx in '81, Duran Duran in '83(that was a surreal experience...it was general admission and when they opened the doors the crowd just rushed in and I never even gave my ticket to anyone!), Sting in '86, Elton John & Billy Joel together in '93, Sting again in '96, and the list goes on. But I guess the two shows that stand out most for me are: Shaun Cassidy in '77 when I was ten years old and Tim McGraw and the Dixie Chicks in '97.

Queen gave an awesome concert way back in the '70s, also Elton John. :thumbsup2

Well, Bon Jovi freaking rocked! It was great fun watching my mother get jealous over the girls on stage who got to feel Jon up during the show (and boy, did they ever feel him up!). But MY personal faves were David Bowie :worship: back in 2004 and Duran Duran in 1987 and 2005. At the '87 show, it was John Taylor's birthday, and before the 2nd encore, they all came out with John shaking his head, acting all embarrassed. Simon LeBon yelled "I promised I wasn't going to do this - but I'm going back on my word!" The whole arena sang Happy Birthday to John. And in 2005, I brought my personalized license plate inside wth me. I was 18 rows from the stage. At the end of the show, they came up on their little riser to wave. I held up my plate and jumped up and down, and John pointed right at me and waved! Best night of my life!

1) Queen and Mott The Hoople WAY back when at the Uris Theatre in NYC.
2) Anything by Kings X in the last blah blah blah years.

I just remembered another memorable concert, I went to see Foreigner sometime in the 80's. I don't remember much about the concert, but afterwards we couldn't find our car. A policeman had us wait in a hotel lobby while he looked, and we met the band in the hotel lobby. Actually in the bar adjacent to the lobby and we got kicked out because we were under age.
Good times :smooth:

Green Day, American Idiot in Dallas, Aug 2005

2nd runner up:

Bon Jovi, Bounce in Toronto, July 2003

Without a doubt my favorite concert was Duran Duran in Cleveland in 2003. We actually went backstage and hung out with the band for about an hour drinking a few beers and chatting. There were only about 10 of us backstage and it was unreal. We met them again backstage in Indy in 2005 but it was much more structured with the record company running the show.

You know I started to post, but as I was typing the list was getting way to long and I wasn't even near done. I've be very fortunate to have seen so many great bands and great shows.

Well, I've been to quite a few concerts over the course of the 16 years I've been alive.

Barenaked Ladies x7 (2001, 2003, 2004 4x, 2005, and I'm sure I'll go to at least 2 when Barenaked Ladies Are Me comes out and they go on their fall tour)

Dave Matthews Band x4 (2005 x3, 2006)

Billy Joel (2006)

John Fogerty (2006)

Guster/Ray Lamontagne (2006)

Eagles (2005)

Blues Traveler (2006)

O.A.R. (2005)

I'd say BNL definitely puts on the best live show i've seen in terms of entertainment. If you've ever seen them, you know they're extremely funny guys, and they come up with improv raps that leave the crowd laughing for the rest of the night. They also very perform with very high energy. When I saw them at Shea's Performing Arts Center in Buffalo, the balcony was bouncing during "Brian Wilson" (though they said it does that all the time).

O.A.R. was definitely my least favorite show, they sounded sloppy and I just don't like them very much in general.

I didn't know much CCR when I went to see John Fogerty on 8/13 at the Darien Lake PAC, but I must say I am a very big fan now, his concert was excellent, and he still sounds great at age 61.

The Eagles and Billy Joel were both excellent, and I'd definitely see them again.

Guster and Dave Matthews Band were both very good, but for both I went in expecting more. However, I still very much enjoyed both shows.

Where's my KISS fans? ;)

My fave show should probably be when we went backstage and met them on top of having front and center seats but unfortunately I couldn't put that on the top of my list. That was the second time we had been in the front row. A couple favs would probably be the first time we saw KISS when we had 2nd row seats. I was so wowed! What a show they put on. I've seen them about 15 times.

To the OP, I agree Janet puts on a great show. I also have some GREAT memories of Steve Miller concerts when I was in high school. We all went every summer and had such a blast! Ahh...memories!

I remember my N.K.O.T.B concert as well! I could barely see them we were so far away, but gosh at the time, I thought it was the coolest thing in my life!

Sting is really awesome to see live.

I've seen Chicago twice and they're amazing

Elton John is great.. and I sat off to the side to actually see his the keyboard of the piano - I was in music geek heaven!

My absolute favorite so far: Michael Buble.. he puts on an AMAZING show.. he's so good about people taking pictures - and for the last 5 or so songs we ran to the front of the stage and I touched his hand :faint:.. a picture is worth a thousand words: http://pics.livejournal.com/stella_puella/gallery/00001rpc
And then at the end of his show his band stops and he sings without a microphone - the audience gets so quiet and his voice filled the arena.. once again, music geek heaven! I also got half of the playlist from the stage. Good show! :thumbsup2
