First of all, a couple of artist suggestions
- Canadian Brass: whoever suggested them before, they are GREAT!
- Chanticleer: All-male acappella chorus; their voices will give you chills
- Cambridge Singers/Choir of King's College, Cambridge: preferably conducted by Rutter, a wonderful traditional choir
Some less traditional songs!
- In dulci jubilo ("Good Christian Men Rejoice" you may know is the same tune), there are many arrangements but I like either the Bach or Praetorius arrangements
- The Angel Gabriel
- Angels from the Realms of Glory
- Infant Holy, Infant Holy
- O little one sweet
- The Coventry carol
- Ding Dong, Merrily on High
- The Friendly Beasts (a children's song, but I think it really embodies the spirit! it is so sweet)
- I wonder as I wander
- Adam Lay ybounden - old English madrigal, you won't recognize the tune but it's a good one
- In the bleak midwinter
- Love Came Down at Christmas
- Tomorrow Shall be my Dancing Day
- All my heart this night rejoices
- Gaudete (another English madrigal)
- Quem pastores laudavere (a shepherds' carol; many beautiful choral arrangements of this)
- Once in royal David's city
- There Shall a Star (Mendelssohn, from his unfinished oratorio "Christus")
- Break forth, O beauteous heavenly light (from Bach's Christmas Oratorio)
- Hodie Christus Natus Est (I like the Sweenlinck version)
