Hi! This upcoming trip will be all about character meals! Just wondering if I am missing any?:confused3 What are your favorites??:yay:Would love any character meal reviews or pics!:cheer2:

Our must do are
Ohana for breakfast
1900 Park fare for dinner
Tusker House for breakfast
Akershus for dinner

We truly don't like Chef Mickey. we tried several times and been desappointed everytime.

We loved Crystal Palace for breakfast. The character interaction was great! We are two adults (30 years old) and got an ADR at 8 am. We were done eating in 45 minutes and were able to start our "rounds" at MK.

Also - Tusker House with Donald (again for breakfast) in AK. Was great to see Mickey, Minnie, Daisy and Goofy while eating (Donald was outside greeting guests.) I've been to Chef Mickey's to see Mickey Mouse but left before seeing him because of the long wait. We were in and out in no time at Tusker House and saw/photo'd all characters.

Enjoy!

I really love Crystal Palace for Pooh & friends! Been for both breakfast and dinner, and can't complain about either. It can get busy, but the characters seem to make their way around pretty efficiently. Going for lunch this August.

For Princesses, I highly suggest Akershus. It's a little pricey, but I think if you're on the Dining Plan it's a really great deal! Before sitting down, you're photographed with one of the princesses (it's a specific one that rotates - one time I was there it was Ariel, another time it was Belle), and you receive the photo in a cute folder (included in the cost of the meal). I've only been for lunch, but it always seems way more relaxed than most character meals, and the princesses don't seem rushed. There's a cold buffet, but then you choose an entree, so I think the quality of food is better than many character meals.

I'm trying out Tusker House this trip for breakfast, so I'm excited to try that out. The only character meal I've been to and really didn't care for was 1900 Park Fare for dinner, although many people enjoy the characters.

My personal favorite is the Garden Grill, but that may be because I am a huge Chip and Dale fan. But you also get Mickey in over-alls and Pluto as well. We went here last Christmas time and got to see the characters three times in the same meal! The food itself was pretty good; not the best but by far not the worst. We will definitely be returning here!

On the other hand, my family did not care for 1900 Park Fare. Too crowded and the food was kind of blah. It was nice to see Cinderella, Prince Charming, Anastasia and Drizella, and Lady Tremaine, but because we have done it once and seen them all, we most likely won't be returning here.

Crystal Palace is nice if you like Pooh characters, and it was a much better buffet than !900 Park Fare. Also, the Crystal Palace itself is a nice sight and place to relax within the Magic Kingdom; we were able to see the Castle light up for the first time at night!

We loved Tusker House for breakfast! Good food, fun characters, and we were deep in the park right away. We had an 8:15 ressie, ate, hugged characters, and were able to get on the safari right away! It was fun walking back to the restaurant before the park officially opened for the day! The kids and adults in our party loved it!!!:goodvibes

DH likes the 1900 Park Fare breakfast for the food. I enjoyed the food but nothing beat meeting Mary Poppins. Alice, the Mad Hatter, Pooh and Tigger were there too but I was really just there for Miss Practically Perfect in Every Way. :lmao:

We just got back from a trip where we did 4 character meals, 2 we had done before and 2 we hadn't. We were pretty unanimous that the only one the kids actually even had fun at was Garden Grill. Before we got there, I thought the boys had outgrown the characters. I saw them come alive at GG.

At the others (Crystal Palace, Tusker House and Akershus) the character interaction was...weak. At Tusker House Mickey picked up our autograph book, opened it to a page and scrawled a barely legible signature. Then he stood near the kids and waited maybe 5 seconds then literally ran away... Tusker House had been our favorite last time. Akershus' food was a joke and the picture package was horrible. It's obvious they didn't even try to get a decent picture, just rush us through.
Crystal Palace was always the boys fave since they love Tigger and Eeyore, but this time was lackluster...

Garden Grill, on the other hand, was wonderful in terms of characters. The food was...ok. A little weird for our tastes. The characters reminded me of Liberty Tree back in the day. Chip and Dale played tic-tac-toe with the boys, kissed my hand, etc. Pluto was full of fun, even crawling over to us on all fours. The boys said he was the best Pluto ever. Mickey encouraged the boys to eat their veggies. All of them came more than once and hugged all of us. Chip even insisted on a pic with DH who wouldn't normally pose.

If you are wanting great interaction, go to Garden Grill. We decided the rest of them will be skipped from now on.

Tusker House for breakfast - characters are amazing! Daisy is a riot! And I LOVED the food. By far the best selection on property!!! Huge selection.

Crystal Palace - always a great meal here. And the characters are great.

Ohana breakfast - love having a sitdown breakfast for a change (all you can eat of course). Food is wonderful. Esp the bread & juice! Characters are fantastic. Love the view.

1900 PF dinner - characters are wonderful. Stepsisters are hysterical! Loved it. atmosphere is gorgeous too. But the food wasnt good.

Our favorite is Cape May breakfast at the BC. We eat there at least once every trip and have always had great meals.....plus we love the characters in their beach clothes :goodvibes. We also love Ohana ;).

We love Crystal Palace, Cape May, and Garden Grill! Not a fan of Tusker House at all! Thanks! April
