What is your favorite character meal? Kids love Mickey, but it seems we've done them all. Not a big fan of CM....

5 kids ages 3-11, 4 boys 1 girl. Any suggestions?

TIA!

We really enjoyed Tusker House breakfast at the Animal Kingdom. We saw Donald, Mickey, Goofy and Daisy and the food was wonderful! Soooooo many choices.

My kids were 6 (girl) and 8 (boy) and both equally loved it!

Dine and vine (for food, and songs) is our fav by a long shot.. no MIckey though.

Best meal with Mickey .. Cape May ..good only breakfast.
Dinner would have to vote Garden Grill. The whole atmosphere makes it more fun.

My faves are Crystal Palace breakfast or lunch, 1900 Park Fare, Akershus breakfast and Garden Grill. Since you guys are Mickey fans: Garden Grill!!! The service is great, it never feels crowded there, and the food is wonderful!!! Also, the character interaction is the best! Also, if you're looking for a breakfast, Ohana and Tusker House are both delish! And they both have the big cheese himself!

We have eaten at Tusker House for Breakfast. we really enjoyed it. The food was good especially the fritatta. I thought the character interaction was a little fast. We saw Donald, Goofy, and Mickey(can't remember).

We have eaten at Ohana for breakfast too. I love the character interaction and the food is served family style at your table. Loved the potatoes here.
We saw Pluto, Stitch, Lilo, and mickey.

We have eaten at Crystal Palace for Breakfast and Lunch. The food is very good for both breakfast and lunch. The characters have a small parade around the restaurant and you can join in. We saw Pooh and Friends. The make your own omelet and pancakes are fabulous.

My family enjoys Crystal Palace for a character breakfast. The food is good. We're not real interested in the characters, but there seems to be a lot of good character interraction.

Crystal Palace breakfast is good for the characters (Pooh, Tigger, etc.) and the fact that you can get into Magic Kingdom before opening. However, IHOP or Waffle House have better food, so keep that in mind.

We loved the character interaction at 1900 PF. Even my ds11 who is definately NOT interested in princesses enjoyed the stepmother and stepsisters- they were a hoot!

As the pp mentioned we also have to agree with 1900PF as we always have a great time and the dinner buffet is really good....:thumbsup2

We have done Tusker House, Chef Mickeys, O'Hana, Crystal Palace. We are breakfast people and enjoyed them all but O'hana was our favorite. I like the family style set up more than the buffets at the others listed.

Tusker House breakfast. It was Mickey, Goofy, Donald, & Daisy. Great food and great character interaction. :)

I would say Ohana for caracter interaction and family style service, Tusker for caracters and full buffet and for dinner I would have to say 1900 Park Fare for buffet and Akershus for menu

I thought Tusker House had the best food at breakfast but the charecter interactions were brief and it felt a bit crowded. The food at Crystal Palace is not as good but I like the charecter interaction better and the room feels bright and airy. I find the food at Chef Mickey's to be marginal at best and the place always seems like a zoo. We usually hit all three of these on our week long trips.

DD is not a fan of princesses but I do like the charecter interaction at 1900 Park fare, food is OK. I won't go back to Akershus (or however you spell it) b/c I thought the food was bad even by theme park standards.

I haven't done, CRT or Ohana's in years but we're going on our next trip :) I've never done the Cape May or Garden Grill.

Based on character interaction, we like Garden Grill. The way they segregate the tables, you feel like the interaction is just yours because you really can't see the other tables. There were times when the characters surprised us because we didn't see them coming from the next table. We saw Chip, Dale, Pluto, and Mickey there. ;)

Tusker House is our favorite for breakfast. We really enjoy the food and characters there! We also enjoy 1900 Park Fare for both dinner and breakfast. Akershus is great to see several princesses and we do like the food there at lunch. Cape May is a nice breakfast as well, and very laid back.

We've done CRT, Akershus, Garden Grill, Crystal Palace, Cape May, Chef Mickey's, Tusker House, Ohana and Liberty Tree (when it had characters, but it doesn't anymore.) We have three boys (ages pre-school to pre-teen.)

Garden Grill was our boys' favorite WDW restaurant and favorite character meal for years - it's our arrival night tradition and we all enjoy it. They continue to change the menu and there are some items we like better than others but we like the family style service (instead of buffet) the great character interaction and the food. If you go, I'd highly recommend requesting a booth on the lower level - it's a much better experience in the booths for us - we enjoy it more than the tables on the upper level.

But best overall character meals for us are Ohana and Tusker House breakfasts. (And I don't even usually like breakfast, so that means quite a lot!) We love them both and it's hard to really compare the two because they are so different. Ohana is very relaxed with a beautiful view of the lagoon and the character interaction is outstanding. The food is served family style, which makes it more relaxing than a buffet, but means less variety. I still prefer Ohana for overall atmosphere and food. The juice, pineapple bread and Mickey waffles are just a few of our favorites. (And I'm probably the only poster on the boards who feels this way, but I actually like the bacon at WDW.)

Tusker House is great fun and the buffet has amazing variety. We have very different tastes in our family of five and everyone was happy. The characters were energetic and the whole place s a lively and fun start to the day - 8am ADRs for a 9am AK park opening work very nicely!

Good luck with your decision and happy planning! :wizard:

Breakfast at Ohana is definitely our favorite. I love Stitch. We're going back there on our next trip (including my father who normally isn't really into the character meals, but I think that may be more curiousity about Stitch since he doesn't know that character).
