Favorite chain restaurant

Where is Carrabbas, I have never heard of it and so many people seem to love it. I am around the St. Louis area

10923 Olive Blvd, Creve Coeur, MO 63141

Also one in O'Fallon;

2558 Highway K, O'Fallon, MO 63366

I love Bahama Breeze. Other favorites are Macaroni Grill and Cracker Barrel. There aren't any of these close to our house so we go when traveling.

A Longhorn just opened near my house - I just went to their website, their menu doesn't have prices - is it about the same as Outback? I'm not crazy about Outback, but for some reason DH is. I think its because we only go to the one in Delray Beach FL, and that what he likes about it, being in Delray, not necessiarly the food
Yes, they are comparable in price but I actually think the quality is much better at Longhorn. BTW, I've eaten at several Outbacks, so I'm not basing my opinion on just one individual restaurant. Also, the Caesar salad at Longhorn is much better than Outback; that's the salad I always get with my steak. Oh, and free peanuts at Longhorn :thumbsup2

Charlie Browns for a great burger.
I miss Charlie Brown's since we moved down south. We had one in the town next to us and we probably ate there once a week. It was definitely one of our favorites.

I prefer Longhorns bread, but everything else I prefer at Outback.
I've had a really bad experience on on LH and not so great experiences at the one nearest to me.

Tony Roma's. LOOOVVVEEE those baby-back ribs!

But the first thing I'm gonna eat when I get my braces off is a big ol' Jersey Mike's sub sandwich.

Olive Garden  . I would die to have some of their amazing salad, breadsticks & angel hair w/alfredo right now! :cloud9:

Oh, or a Teriyaki Club Steak  from Logan's Roadhouse.

Benihana! That is our absolute favorite as a couple...love the fried rice and shrimp!

I also really like the Cheesecake Factory, and nothing beats Chevy's chips and salsa!

And those Roadhouse rolls and butter....OMG, heaven on earth!

Is it lunchtime yet?

We are such losers here in Vermont. :confused3 I don't know most of the restaurants people are mentioning here. We are so behind the times, but that is what many love about Vermont.

I guess growing up in an Italian house in NY, I'll never get the Carrabas or Olive Garden thing. I think they are gross. Or tOny's in MK for that matter.

I LOVE In-N-Out burgers, Steak N Shake Burgers for fast food.

Cook to order chains, Applebees, love their oriental chicken salad, PF Changs, lettuce wraps..YUM!

As long as YOU love it that's all that matters. Besides you get great maple syrup??

Ooh, Ooh, I want to add another one... HOPS - yummmmm! I love their rolls! :thumbsup2

Fast food? - Steak 'n' Shake. Um hmmm.

Breakfast food -
Bob Evans. We don't have any around here that I know of (but they have commercials on the local channels, so maybe?) Of the local eat-n-chew's we do have I'd have to give the nod to Cracker Barrel.

I like Salsarita's (shrimp nachos) and McAllister's (cheddar potato soup in a bread bowl).

But...
Chili's.

Specifically the Chicken Crispers. Deep-fried, beer batter chicken with fries and spice-rubbed corn on the cob. Yum!

I'm not all that fond of Corporate American Slop. Consequently, we don't eat at chains very often.

But for steaks, I do enjoy a regional chain called Cattlemen's. It's in Northern California and Arizona. Lacking access to that here, , I'd have to go with Logan's over Outback and Longhorn.

Of the cheapo Steak em up buffets, I'd probably go with Golden Coral over the rest.

For straight Corporate American Bistro, I'd have do give Chillis the nod.

I much prefer genuine mom and pop Italian, But if you put a gun to my head I'd say Carrabas.

Of the Mexican Chains, they're all out of business here. Corporate American Mexican seems to be on the decline.
Casa Maria, El Torito, Chevy's (It wasn't called that here but they owned it) Chi Chi's, All closed.

Of the greasy spoons, I prefer Denny's . It comes pretty much as advertised and it isn't as scuzzy as some waffle houses can get. The faux country cookin type places are out of the question.. It always ends up being less food, and more expensive with extra grease and salt.

Fast food burgers. Again the chains are lacking. I'd have to say in terms of value for the dollar spent, I'd go with Hardees.

Chili's used to serve a chicken enchilada soup that was heavenly. For some reason, they stopped making it. We do like the Southwestern eggrolls and their boneless buffalo wings though.

Coming from an Italian family myself, I understand what you're saying. I will say that after going to different Carrabas, they can vary. Macaroni Grill is pretty darn good, if not better. Speaking of Carrabas, Bonefish Grill (part of the same company) is another outstanding place to eat.

I just told DH today that I was craving this...I haven't had it in at least a year or two. Sounds soooooooooooo yummy right now!
