I am thinking about changing reservations from WL to All Star Sports (I was going solo when I first made my ressies but now my daughter & 6 y/o grandson will be coming, and he's BIG into sports, so thought he would like that resort. Also, my daughter has been sick and not able to eat, but hopefully surgery has corrected that and she wants to try EVERYTHING to eat at Disney. Using the scale in the guidebooks, the PS's she wants will cost about $800! So a stay at All Stars will help finance that side of the stay! Hey, if she feels good enough to eat whatever, we'll stay in a tent if we have to!

So what would be a good building at All Star Sports to request?
Is there such a place as close to transportation but sort of quiet, too? Well, I can dream, can't I?

Well when we stayed there, we liked the main pool area, yes its a bit loud, but when you have an infant you cant go anywhere. So being able to set to chairs outside at night with the door cracked and listening and people watching was relaxing for us. We also stayed at the sports resort. I would be going back there this year but we decided to try another resort. The rooms facing the main pool are like $10 more a night and I forgot what they are, but the rooms are clean and the bus transportation is good.

Enjoy your stay.

I have had four stays at All Star Sports.. so I can tell you which buildings I liked.

First one we were at Tennis... Not bad, for the first time ever at Disney. It was a little further out, but it was quiet. We were on the second floor as well. This was tricky because I had my two year old then.. so we had to do elevator with the stroller. It wasn't far from the bus stop, food court, once we got our bearings. There is a playground near there as well.

Next Visit, we split between two rooms one in Basketball Section and in Surf's Up. The reason we changed is that it was a couples only trip, and well, they didn't have a king bed for us right away.

We were put in Basketball., third floor. It was a wooded area, and in the corner. It was a little further from than say Tennis. Parking was a little trickier, but the good thing about that was we could see the rental car from our porch/door area.

Then we went to Surfs Up. Much more closer to everything, and they had the king bed. Now, Surf's Up is a preferred building, but I wouldn't pay $10 extra for it.

Our last stay we were at Touchdown.. This was great. The kids could run in the field, we were semi close to the parking lot, very close for AM coffee jaunts at the food court, and the pool.

Another building that looks good but we haven't stayed in is the baseball one. Baseball is near the Tennis one, and the pool is quiter.

What is your DGS's favorite sport? You might want to make that your first request. I stayed in Hoops and Surf's Up and liked both buildings even though the Hoops building was at the back of the resort. I find that ASSp is not as spread out as ASMu. Many people recommend Baseball and Football because they are close to the food court, busses and parking.

We always request touchdown. It's between the quiet pool and mainpool and an easy walk either way. Also near the foodcourt/bus, but not in the preferred section.

We've requested nonsmoking every time we have gone, so if this helps you... we were in Tennis, Basketball, Suurfs Up, and Touchdown..

Although I do remmeber smelling smoke on one of the walkways.. near the pool.. we were near the pool on Surfs Up.. it wasn't overpowering, but you could tell if someone walked by with one...

Thanks Cindy!
If we end up staying there sometime I would like to request the football section, so Ive been wondering if one of those were smoking, therefore lessening our chances of getting a non smoking room there.

Thanks, everyone. My DGS played soccor and baseball this year and enjoyed both, so we might request baseball or fooball. Sounds like either one would do for us.

We've stayed in Football 3 times... It's great! Close to everything... both pools, food court, and buses. Not too noisy either. Have a GREAT time! :D

We love the AS Sports...have stayed many times.

No matter what building you are in...you are no more than a few minute walk away from all the action. The resort is laid out very well.

The food in the food court is very good. The pools are very nice. There is two laundry rooms.

Have fun!
