A guide to my favorite Boardwalk restaurants:
Breakfast:
I love the Boardwalk Bakery, great fresh baked goods and a nice table to watch the Boardwalk wake up every morning. (if it's raining then serve the same pastry in the Boardwalk Inn's lounge.
Spoodles: I was just there and was not impressed. I had the poached eggs with the sausage etc. It was tasty but missing something. I felt like it should have had a side of toast, the other guys that I was with felt the same.
Lunch:
ESPN is great for lunch, good food, hugh portions, a nice place to spend some time. It's also great for a casual dinner and watching a game.
Dinner is where the Boardwalk shines.
Flying Fish:
Excellent restaurant. The food and service is top notch. You will never have a bad experience here.
Yachtsman Steak House:
Another excellent choice, this is on my must do list for each visit. Everyone in my party has always enjoyed themselves.
Palio in the Swan:
Once again a excellent choice. This is an Italian restaurant in the Swan. It is excellent and I have never seen a crowd there. You can't use a Disney charge here; cash or credit card only. They do give a 20% discount to DVC members (the advertise this only for food but on all of my visits it has always come off food and drinks).
Blue Zoo:
Todd English's restaurant at the Dolphin, excellent food and service but no discounts. Being from Boston I have plenty of Todd's restaurants available so I find this one to be skippable.
Shula's Steak House:
at the Dolphin. Very good, but I prefer the Yachtsman at the Yacht and Beach club.
I'm not a fan of Beaches and Cream. They have good ice cream but I prefer a quieter atmosphere for lunch. If you do take out for the pool it's good.
The Big River Grill is ok. I had a good (not great) burger there last week and the cheese soup was very good but for the price, quality, quanity and ability to get discounts I would always choose ESPN.
Enjoy yourself.
