Hi All,
We're leaving in less than 2 weeks for our first ever family disney vacation. My DH and I looked over the restaurants we've made ADR for and they might not hit the fun quotient with the kids. DS is 7; DD is 4

We do have breakfast w/ Cinderella booked, but that's the only character meal. We also have less than ideal reservations for the Hoop De Doo, which we were thinking about cancelling, but maybe we shouldn't. (?)

Any and all input on your favorite family friendly places to eat would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

My DD3 had a great time at the Hoopdeedoo. The Crystal Palace with Pooh is great, they do a little parade around the place with the kids, and Chef Mickeys is lots of fun too. I haven't yet tried the Whispering Canyon Cafe but planning on trying that this year because I've heard that can be fun for kids too.

We did Chef Mickey for BK great fun

Garden Grill for lunch, really nice food, very laid back, great character interaction

Crystal Palace for lunch very good great characters

H&V BK ok, DS4 loves Leo so a must for us

Kids also thought monorail going over us at Concord Steakhouse was cool.

Have fun

I find that having distractions, like characters of the monorail really helps as sometimes the kids are just so tired and less than fun at restaurants. We enjoy:
Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey (it's a zoo though), Biergarten, Morocco for the belly dancing, Japan for the hibachi, the Plaza in the MK, Princess Storybook Breakfast and the Hollywood and vine (my older one thought he was too cool to go at 6 but he really got into it.

Crystal Palace can't be beat. Buffet works the best with wee ones as there is going to be something for everyone. Breakfast character interaction is faster and more efficient than dinner. All 3 meals are great food choices and good value for the money. Don't miss the made to order omelets with breakfast.

Outside of character meals my kids' favorites are Whispering Canyon Cafe (Wilderness Lodge) and Prime Time Cafe (I think that's the name of the 50's diner at MGM.) They ask to go to Whispering Canyon all the time though.

My DD then 5 loved the Whispering Canyon Cafe. Just ask for ketchup!

We also like Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner. The characters don't seemed as rushed and the food is really good.

I would go for the Hoop De Doo as well. I went years ago with a large group and the kids all loved it. We had someone picked from our table to go onstage as well.

The other place I recommend is a TS restaurant so no ADRs needed and that is Cosmic Rays in MK. My daughter loves to sit and listen to "the alien guy" sing and tell jokes. She still talks about it. They also have the best roast chicken and mashed potatoes!

The Garden Grill is a hit with my kids. Food is served family style, which is nice.

The Crystal Palace - who doesn't love a meal with Pooh and his pals?

The Rainforest Cafe is another hit with my kids. Although it has lost some of its fun factor now that we have one in the mall by our house.
