Favorite and Positive Memories?

Two of my most favorite memories were from my son's first visit, about 5 1/2 years ago. He was turning three at the end of our trip. Dressed in Lightning McQueen garb from head to toe, we waited around for the first McQueen M&G at HS. This was before the new Cars backdrop. We didn't tell him why, but once he heard that music, he started dancing and looking around. My husband was holding him up so he could see him drive past to the spot while I video taped. He squealed "Oh my gosh! Its Kachow!" Over and over... When it was his turn my husband set him down, he ran up as fast as his chubby baby legs could carry him, and put his hand on the hood. McQueen revved his engine and scared him just a little, but he smiled as everyone behind us roared with laughter.

The second was when we saw Mickey's Philharmagic. At the end, he turned around, looking back at the hole in the wall, and cried out with concern, "Dona (Donald) okay, mama? Dona OK?". Priceless!

The excitement leading up to the first WDW vacation for everyone in our family.
Seeing the look of wonder as our 2 DGDs saw CC for the first time.
The chills I got watching my first Wishes at 57 years old.
MNSSHP.
The look on DH and SIL faces when their jaws dropped seeing the Princesses at CRT breakfast...it was hilarious!

What a wonderful thread! I feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

We took our oldest son at five months old in February '11. The weather was pretty lousy all week, and MK was the quietest I had ever seen it. We were hanging out on Main Street and all the town characters came out and led a singalong. The barbershop quartet eventually joined them, and then the brass quartet, too. It was so much fun and we were all so happy despite the rain.

My favorite memory from my last trip happened at Monsters Inc Laugh Floor. My husband complained and complained the whole time about how the attraction was stupid, but it was raining, so we had nothing better to do. So we got in there and my husband sat us in the back to be "away" from the fray, and was grumbling but the kids were so excited, and right before he's about to sit down, the camera goes on him and under his picture is says, "Feels the urge to break out in dance."

And so he starts doing this stupid little dance that we used to joke about when we were young, and the kids and I were laughing so hard, and when he was done he had the biggest smile on his face. He joked that he was traumatized for life by it, but that is all my family members talk about now. So if you want to be featured on the LF, all you have to do is be the most unwilling participant ever, and they will MAKE you catch the enthusiasm.

I have quite a few since going with my own kids. You get to experience it as such a magical experience again when you view it through their eyes :) Last year when we went, Ariel in the Akersus dinner was smitten with my older daughter (she was 3.5 at the time) and kept coming back over to talk with her. She chose her to hold her hand in the "princess parade" and Adina was over the moon!

And i have some awesome memories from when I went for HS graduation at 18. I went with my best friend and her family. They have a disney time share and we stayed at the Boardwalk Inn. It was beautiful. The whole trip was just so much fun. We ate so much good food, and we got to walk around on our own, and just have a blast. That was 2000 so there was a special parade at Epcot too, and other special things going on. What a fun time!

It's just a place that lets us let go and be happier goofier more playful versions of our normal home stressed out selves. This is a weird and personal example that I don't know if anyone will be able to relate to, but it still touches my heart 5 years later, so here goes:

We were waiting for transportation (before ME? don't remember) back to the airport at the end of our trip in the Caribbean Beach lobby. We were all exhausted after a week of super late EMH and early morning dining reservations and no breaks. I was playing with my various stuffed animals, most I had brought from home but some I had gotten on that trip, and other souvenirs. My mom was nearly asleep next to me, so I just started piling them up on her. Normally at home we call her "fun governor", she's not playful or silly at all, at home this never would've went down. I even topped her off with my pirate mickey ears! We both just started laughing, and then when my dad and his friend came over to look at what was so funny they cracked up too. It was just the perfect ending to our trip.
