We'll be staying in a dedicated 2 bdr at VWL in Dec. I'm trying to decide which location to request. What have been your favorite views, locations, etc.? What about the corner rooms close to the elevators? They seem like they would be the best choice for our family with a 5 yr old and almost 2 yr old. Of course, we'll just be really happy to be back at our "home"!:cool1: Thanks for any suggestions.

Last fall we stayed in villa 4511. It is a dedicated 2 bedroom with a wonderful view of the quiet pool and a nice view of Bay Lake (thanks to a hurricane a few years back that cleared out some of the pine trees.) At the time we had a 4 and 2 year old and this location was perfect because it was right around the corner from the elevator. It also has 2 balconies, but they are full balconies, not like the ones on the 5th floor.

We didn't request anything, we just got this by luck of the draw. We were so happy with the room that I asked at the front desk how we should word our request so that we would likely get it again ... as you know, the Disney system does not work well with room number requests but does a bit better with room type requests (sometimes! :lmao: )I was told to request a view of the quiet pool on an upper floor. If you can find a link with the room layouts you will see that 2 on the third floor and 2on the fourth floor fit this request. The ones on the second floor are 1BR/studio lock offs.

Hope this helps, Jennie

Thanks so much Jennie! That sounds like a great location. I really appreciate your help.:)

I read that 4511 was an excellent room. I have a few questions:
Could you see the castle or the electric water pagent?
Could you hear the elevator? The close proximity to the elevator makes me nervous...we stayed at BCV and although the elevator was across the hall-all night we could hear it. "Wooosssshhhhhh...BING"!!! It was awful. I asked to be moved but we had to check out and check back in and it would have been too difficult. But after the third sleepless night I wish we had moved.

Thanks for the room suggestion!

Room 4511 faces Bay Lake, so you can not see the castle but we were able to see and hear the water parade every night. Now, to see it we needed to be on our balcony and you could only see each float as it passed through the clearing of trees, not the entire parade at once like if you had been down on the beach.

The only noise we ever heard from outside the room was when there were loud guests in the hallway, other than that, the room was extremely quiet. I, too, was a bit concerned about elevator noise and the bells on it but we never heard it once. There are 2 rooms in between it and the villa, however, a Mousekeeping room and probably a mechanical one for the elevator. They must be pretty well insulated, though, because we didn't hear any noise from there, either. Hubby is a pretty sound sleeper, but I'm not, and since the master bedroom is the one that is closest to the CM rooms and the elevator I was worried that it would keep me up at night ... it was not a problem!

Hope this helps! Jennie
