I'm trying to decide where our stops will be, to book hotels in advance. Do you have a favorite, or one you'd steer clear of in: Kingsland,GA Savannah,GA or Santee, SC? How are Country Inns? Jameson Inns? It's me hubby and our two kids, looking for something safe and clean. Thanks!

There is a terrific Fairfield Inn on I-95 outside of Savannah. It is clean, has an indoor pool and also has a decent breakfast in the morning (included in the price of the room). We stay there coming and going usually, for about $75 a night. It is listed simply as Fairfield Inn I-95 South in the AAA tourbook, and I think it is on Abercorn Street. Hope that helps! :)

Looks like your going in April...if you plan to stay in Santee- make a reservation! 2 years ago we tried to stay there in April...well, long story short we found a hotel 45 minutes south, after calling 3 different hotel chains on the cell.

I prefer to stay with Choice Hotels- Quality Inn, Comfort Inn, Econo Lodge, those- as 99% of them have breakfast, and we have never found one that wasn't clean.

Another bet is the fairfield inn....oh boy are those nice!....

We've had good luck at Hampton Inns. There are several in Savannah just off I95. We've stayed at the one on Abercorn Street several times. They have a free continental breakfast that's very nice.

Can recommend Best Western in Santee, and the Hampton Inn in Brunswick, Ga.

We have stayed at the Fairfield that Elin mentioned. I would also recommend it. Clean rooms, friendly staff, decent breakfast.
We have also stayed at the Econo Lodge at that same I-95 exit. Avoid that dump like the plague.

We stopped in Santee, SC and stayed at Holiday Inn. It was very nice! It has just been renovated and the cost with AAA was $59!

On our last two trips to Disney (4/03, 4/02), we have stayed at the Wingate Inn in Savannah, GA.

The hotel was a bit more (about $79.00 with AAA discount) than area competitors, but was well worth it. Interior hallways, clean rooms, well lit parking lot and very good breakfast made decision to return an easy one. The staff was also very courteous and friendly.

Also, as we do not drive straight through, Savannah was just the right stopping point for the day. :D
