Hi! Would love to hear your favorite DVC to enjoy when you are doing a no park visit. We are looking to just hang out and relax at the resort. We have two girls 5 and 3. Thanks in advance!

Depends on what you and the girls like? Make a list of what you enjoy, then match it to pools, activities, animals, food, views, location, boats, monorail.

I would pick Animal Kingdom: Kidani. You'd have the animals to see, community center for crafts/games, cultural activities--drumming lessons, 'bead' activities, etc, water play area, pools, etc.
Thanks @Geomom ! I didn't even know they did all that.

You may want to consider yacht club for the pool, close proximity to Fantasia golf, and the variety of food options and ice cream. Whenever we do no park visits see stay in the Epcot resort area , it works for us.

Check out the activity schedules for Animal Kingdom to see the types of activities they offer--I put the links to Kenny the Pirate's ones. Note that activities might be at Kidani or Jambo, so make sure you read the guide carefully. Most activities are free, some have a fee.

We stayed at Kidani when my girls were 9 and 5. While it wasn't a no-parks trip, we ended up spending more time at the resort than we planned due to the very rainy weather. We loved doing the cultural activities and they have added so many more things to it since we went! DH and I also loved getting room service as it came from Sanaa--so not the usual burger/fries type of room service.

I agree with AKL. The animals alone makes it special for non parks.

Poly would be a fun place, atmosphere. Luau. Monorail rides. Boat ride to other resorts like WL for dinner at Whispering Canyons.

I find it better to be in a resort where you cant see the parks for a no park visit. I would pick animal kingdom lodge - many activities without the parks being right there. You might also consider vero beach, which we have done for 2 vacations - once just vero and the other time vero before a cruise.

We just spent 10 days in May at AKL Kidani with my just turned 4 and 6yo and my almost 9yo. We LOVED it. They had so much fun in the pools and there are tons of activities, plus the community hall is in Kidani and the arcade was a big hit too. The spray area is huge there! The slide is also better than Jambo (the kids said).

We like OKW, with the 1 or 2 BR you have lots of open space, a big kitchen, large balcony, nice kids club area, a short boat ride to Disney Springs, several nice pools, parking right in front of you unit. A very relaxing location away from the parks.

I think you mean BCV as the Yacht Club is not a DVC resort. I feel that SAB is not a good pool for families with young children as it is so large that it is easy to lose sight of a child and it is not worth the stress. IMO Kidani Village is a good resort for families, the pool has an excellent water play area for toddlers and older children. There is a shuttle between Kidani and Jambo House or you can easily walk between the two in 10 minutes even with small kids. And the community hall is at Kidani but the children can do the activities at either resort.

Another vote for Kidani. The pool play area is great for kids and the animals and activities will keep them entertained as well.

Another option is to try VWL, DS is now 12 but he loved (still loves) that resort. He really loved the theme the most. Also you are really close to the FW Campgrounds where you can walk/ride bikes/shuttle, not sure what, but they have all kinds of campfire activities and such. Another nod to OKW...by far the biggest rooms, and not as themed as other resorts, but you will just feel like you are on a Florida vacation, minus the theme parks to a degree, which to me is perfect if you're not going to the parks. We took my parents there some years back, they are big EPCOT fans, and they were hesitant to not be on the boardwalk or near there, but when we got in the room, they were in awe. Took pictures and couldn't believe how nice it was (we had a nice 2BR). Studio views, not quite as nice though.
