I need some help, please!

We are looking for white faux wood blinds for our living room windows and I can't believe for the cheap stuff it seems to be $90+ for one picture window.

I need a weird size (I guess?): 66" width, and 64" length.
Our other living room window is much smaller, 33.5" width and 64" length.

I just can't stomach spending $100 for one window since we will still be installing curtains of some sort in addition.

Can anyone help me find something in the $60ish range for the picture window, maybe? I refuse to do vinyl blinds and can do aluminum but I don't like the look of mini blinds. Our master bedroom has a cellular blind which is nice for blackout, but I think the wood & faux wood blinds look the best.

I hope someone has a magic trick to getting a great deal! lol :)

Check Home Depot

They have some online and you can price them out.

You cut them yourself in the store to the width & length you need.

We got ours from Home Depot too.

I know this won't help you, but we put them in all of our windows - 18 I think and they came out to measure, ordered them to size and installed them all for like $115 or something around that. In our case it was well worth it, but the odd thing was it was the same installation cost whether you were doing one window or 20 windows. In our case, a good deal, but not so much in yours. Hopefully this might help someone else though.

We used justblinds.com for the blinds for our house - they were the cheapest that I could find at the time. I did a quick quote for your window and it comes out at $87 for 2 inch blinds. I think your problem is that a 66 inch wide window is REALLY wide in the grand scheme of things; I think you'll have trouble finding anything cheaper than what you've been quoted.

FWIW, we loved our white faux wood blinds that we installed. When we sold our house, the real estate agent first listed the blinds as "2 inch wood blinds" and we had to correct her that they weren't real wood!

I bought my faux (white) wood blinds at Home Depot. The living room window was an odd size so I had to buy the larger size and have them cut down (free of charge) in the store. The rest of the windows were standard sizes. They ranged from $40-$60 depending on size.

Good luck.

We also got ours at Home Depot (or Menards?) and they cut them down to size. $50-60ish for our picture window.

I second JustBlinds.com. They could do any size you asked them to do and I found they had great prices. It's basically like ordering custom blinds. We've placed a couple of orders with them. Super fast shipping and great customer service :)

Would getting two smaller ones work instead of one wide one?
Have you thought about other window treatments instead?

I had to get custom blinds made for 2 sets of my windows. They are 71" across with nothing to mount to in the middle of the windows. I got 2 sets of blinds on one cross bar for each window. I ended up getting the best price at blindster.com. They have a facebook page with a discount code. I ended up paying just under $200 to do 4 windows.

I usually use Select Blinds for this sort of stuff. It was $90.04 for your blinds there so the $90 you seem to be finding seems about right.

Thank you all for looking around for me, I really appreciate it.

I think the absolute lowest price I found was $78 at Lowe's with having them cut down which we've done before on mini blinds. I did look at justblinds.com and with a coupon code it might be equally priced and I would have a few more options. I will look at blindster.com, thank you for that suggestion!

I did contemplate doing 2-3 blinds on that window but I think by the time I add those up it would be the same price or more. We currently have curtains in the room and need/want blinds for when we are watching movies because so much light peeks through the sides of the curtains. I will be keeping curtains up as I like the look of them.

I think we will just have to save up and purchase one blind at a time (we are wanting to do most of the house). We just spent $3,000 getting our tiny house painted and know replacing upstairs carpet is in our future $2,000 minimum!)...thankfully we have hardwoods downstairs! LOL! Thanks guys & gals!

Hi,
I have had luck recently getting new blinds on Ebay, and have gotten them for as little as 12.00. I found both white and wood in a variety of sizes so give that a try anyway.
