My family and I will be in SoCal Fathers day weekend. We plan on being at DL on Fathers day and with the newer attractions I was wondering what a good touring plan might be. We haven't done the new Space Mtn. (last trip was in 2005) or the Subs. Should we start in Tomorrowland and do the Subs, Space, and then work our way over to Indiana, etc? We plan on dinner at Blue Bayou (wish we could do Club 33 but being east coasters we have no connections there). Also, when we go over to DCA the next day what's the best plan of attack there? Monsters, then head to Midway Mania? We loved the one at WDW and want to have some more "Mania". B

Will you have Magic Morning? If not, then I do not recommend going to Nemo first thing because there will already be a sizeable line. Save Nemo for during the parades or later at night. Grab a Space or Indy FP first thing, and then go do the other.

As for DCA, TSMM first because it has one of the longest lines there. The line Monster's Inc. can get up to around 20-30 min during really crowded times, but it's usually not too bad.

Actually, the next day, I'd try and get to DL early again (8AM) and have 1 or 2 hours at DL, collecting FPs and riding a couple of major rides. THEN I'd hop over to DCA at around 10 (DCA's opening) to do TSMM first thing.

We will have one magic morning, I haven't really thought how to use it yet. Are they usable evry day? I haven't seen the june calendar on the site yet. So I am thinking, Nemo, Space Mtn, then Indy, Splash, Mansion and then circle back to pick up the C and D tickets. Hows that sound? b

Here is my MM super thread, which will help you plan the morning.

MM is valid on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday (The days that start with 'S' and 'T' is a good way to remember it)

In short, if you want to ride some of the Fantasyland attractions without a long line (Peter Pan, Alice, Matterhorn, Dumbo), you're better off using your MM on Fantasyland than on 1 ride, Nemo. However, if Fantasyland is not really that important, or you only want to hit some of the less popular ones (Pinocchio, Snow White) later, then Nemo during MM is an acceptable option.

Are you doing a break in the middle of the day? If not, then pragmatically (and if you don't mind walking), I would actually plan to do some of DCA in the afternoon on Sunday...I would think that Disneyland will probably be quite busy that day, but DCA maybe not so much. That said, my birthday's that day and I'll likely be in Disneyland and not spending much time in DCA because I like Disneyland better. :) In theory Disneyland will be somewhat less busy on Monday than Sunday, though realistically you never know.

After you use your MM on Sunday, I would head on over to the "left" side of the park at park open, since Fantasyland and Tomorrowland will already be busy when the general public comes in. If you stopped by Disneyland Monday morning, then you could do whatever you missed on Sunday when you come in at "rope drop". (If you are able to get to the park when the gates open you will get SO much more done than if you sleep in!)

So yes, I strongly agree that if nothing else, you should try to get to Disneyland first thing in the morning on Monday, even if you don't stay for long. :)

Have a lovely trip!

So do you think we can get Nemo and then Space Mountain in before we head to the "left"? I was hoping to do Nemo, Space then Indy, Haunted Mansion and POTC.
After that you are suggesting that we head to DCA if it is crowded??
Thanks for any suggestions. Its been a few years since we've been to Cal. and with the several new attractions I am not of the best touring plan. B
