Fat pens for autographs?

They sell fat barreld ball points at Disney that are easy for the characters to use(make sure you take the top off or pop out the ink cartridge). Small pens are tuff for those big hands, not sure about sharpies.

I think sharpies can stain their gloves is they get on them. Also, the sharpies would probably go through the paper. I used a fat ball point pen and it seemed to work great.

I got a fat Pooh pen at Wal Mart that worked well. Of course Eeyore was a little put out when he used it ;) :rotfl: .

We've always bought the fat pens but this past trip we got the new gold autograph book and it came with a regular size pen. I asked a couple of the characters if we should get the fat pens and all gave a pretty enthusiastic reaction about the regular pen. Shaking head no, pointing to the thinner gold pen and shaking head while giving a thumbs up sign etc. :confused3

We bought three extremely fat pens for a Dollar at Dollar General. Even the cashier there couldn't understand why we got them. They were ballpoints, and worked fine under the circumstances. They were easy to find in our pack. We tossed them out afterwards, because nobody normal wants to use them. :rolleyes1

We used a retractable sharpie with cardstock for a scrapbook and it worked well. Never thought about stains, but nobody seemed to mind the sharpies.

We used a small sketch book and a fat Sharpie pen. The sketch book paper is thicker than regular paper. We had the characters sign the book and then pasted the picture of my niece adn the character on the back of the preceding page. Now she has a little photo book of her autographs.

Don't stesss over it--just buy the pens at WDW. They sell those fat pens everywhere, about $3, along with the autograph books.

I just bought a fat Mickey pen at our local Dollar Store. It is one of those that has about 5 different ink colors that you slide the button on top. It also has a little string/lanyard to wear around your neck. I think they also had Pooh and Cars.

We bought the fat disney pen too. Pocahontas was trying to sign my DS book and the pen didn't work. She got a sharpie pen and it did bleed through. But we were told if your pen runs out you can go to any store and get another one. So we did!! :thumbsup2

We used Sharpies with the new colors. They worked fine. They didn't bleed through the paper in the autograph books. Just make sure that the pens are ready for writing, when you hand them to the characters (caps off or the writing part is pushed out).

Have fun meeting the characters. My neice and nephew still talk about that, and it's been a month since we've been at the World.

I brought retractable sharpies and the characters were able to click them open and closed with no issues. There are some great colors and Sharpie is the official marker of Disney... :thumbsup2
