Yep, I think so...
EXACTLY!!!
I'm sorry that it makes you sad to see your mom overweight and unhealthy. But your argument still does not make the comparison between smoking and being overweight a valid one. Your mom's weight might make you sad, and it may be difficult for you to see her that way. But ultimately, it's only HER health that she is affecting. Not yours. Her weight has no physical affect on you or your health. If she were a smoker on the other hand, blowing smoke in your face, then she WOULD be placing your health at risk. Still no comparison.
ETA: Oh! And good for you and the others who have lost weight!![]()
You should be proud of your accomplishment. But it'll have to be a personal decision that your loved ones will have to make (same as it was for you.) You'll never be able to make that decision for them.
Well if her mother continues, it it is likely that she might be disable in the future. It stands to reason that this poster might be called on to care for her.
California bans trans fats, Disney changes their kids menus, fast food restraunts must like calories for their meals. These are all due to rising obesity numbers.
Let not even talk about obese adults that are passing their habits on to their children. The number of obese children that I see at mall, at schools etc. is staggering.
Do we really think that our health care premiums are not affected by larger numbers of obese people?
I do not think that fat people should be ridiculed. I just don't think smokers should be either.
Yep, I think so...

Ask anyone who knows me.
