fastpasses during EMH

Can you get a fastpass during the extra magic hour or do the machines not start working until after park opening?

Say I was at the studios and rode TOT, could I grab a fastpass after for TOT, then ride RNRC and Star tours and come back just after opening to use my FP at TOT?

Just want to know when FP distribution starts the mornings of Extra Magic Hours. Thanks so much!

I don't know for sure, but I think the Fast Pass machines get activated once the line for a particular ride reaches a certain waiting time.
For example, we went one year the second week of December and the majority of the rides did not have the Fast Pass machines on all day, because the rides were walk-ons. Test Track did have the FP on, and their line was only 20 minutes.
So, I would think if it got really crowded for a certain ride during the EMH, the FP machines would certainly be on.

TourGuideMike says FastPass IS available for EE and can be used right away...actually, he recommends doing exactly what you're thinking Dreamer!

When the machine for the fast pass gets turned on has changed a few times since sept 11, which may be why there is some confusion as to whether they are on or not during ee days. I was there during mar 10-21st, and yes they were on. Exactly at what time they get turned on has changed at least once since January, and of course, Tourguide Mike has always indicated what time that was, and when ever there was a change. That is just one of the many reasons I love that site.
