I know. I know. This comes up too often but I have to ask anyway.

I have always been the person who never returns during the hour designated on my FastPass ticket. We always use it at our leisure.

We were dining at Applebees the other day and a couple near us heard us discussing our plans for WDW so they decided they would join our conversation. They had just returned last week from a trip to WDW (and then I noticed they both had on Disney t-shirts). To make a long story short, they said that the parks have, indeed, cracked down on the use of the FastPass and this couple was unable to ever use their FastPass outside the designated time.

So, of course, my questions is... are they REALLY enforcing this now? Do I believe this couple, who I have never met? Ugh! We were really counting on using the FastPass whenever we wanted.

Maybe they tried using one from a few days earlier or for a different ride or, more likely, tried using it *before* the time had passed.

To counter their "first-hand account" I'll give you mine. We were there Oct. 13-17 and we NEVER had a problem using late FPs, and we used almost every one we collected late.

we were there October 1st - 10th. We used fastpasses late on ever single day - including one during an evening EMH quite a few hours after the time... and we were literally the only people in the fastpass line, whereas standby was 35 minutes.

Never had a single CM look twice at us. Did hear a CM at TSM telling people that their FP were good any time after their window opened.

Oct. 15-21 here. No problem using late FPs, even on Toy Story.

No.

The question to have asked them would have been whether or not they, personally, SAW people being turned away with late FPs (or were turned away themselves); or if they simply were TOLD (by guests, bus drivers, CMs) that WDW was "cracking down."

I'd guess it was the latter.

I said I know it has been put out there, but this was the first time I actually heard someone tell ME, so I wanted to know. The 50-page thread goes on and on about rumors. This seemed all too real so I just had to ask.

I don't see how "some guy in Applebee's" rises above the level of rumor any more so than anything in that other thread -- or the millions of threads prior to that -- but OK.

Hey, I just got back from Cracker Barrel and the hostess at the entrance told me that she heard from a cashier who just got back from WDW, and she said they are really totally seriously cracking down on using FP's late. OMG! Is this true?!?
