My son is leaving for Disney tomorrow with his high school cross country team-36 boys. We're from NY. Last years trip was cancelled due to Hurricane Matthew. Last year the coach had booked fastpasses for everyone (not quite as many boys). He hasn't said anything about them this year. So, if he hasn't booked fastpasses, I'm wondering what my son's options are. They'll get there Thursday late afternoon and will be running Friday, going to Downtown Disney Friday night, MK on Saturday, and Disney Studios on Sunday. Coming home Monday. I know it will be wicked crowded this weekend.

If there are no fastpasses already booked, once my son and his friends have their magic bands can they book fastpasses using the mobile app on Thursday night or Friday (assuming there are any left)? If so, what is the app called and I'll get him to download it to his phone? Will each kid he's with need to download app? They'll be allowed to be in the park in smaller groups so fps won't have to be for all 36. My son will probably be in a group of 5-8. If they can't book prior to entering park, where is best kiosk to go to once in park to try and get FPs?

Thanks for any help or tips I can give him. We haven't been to Disney since fp+ was started. Last trip was 2009.

He'll need to link both the Ticket and the Magic Band to his MDE account. He'll need a ticket number to do that, and I'm not sure how that works with group tickets like that. Assuming he is getting his MB on property, it may already be linked to a different profile, if this was all set up in advance. If he can't link to his own MDE account, then he may have to go to a kiosk/cast member to set up some FPs.

The app is called My Disney Experience or just "Disney World" and it wouldn't hurt to have it on his phone just in case.

Their tickets need to be added to the My Disney Experience Account they’ll be using. Add all the boys’ names to the 1 MDE account.

They can book FPs as soon as they know their tickets are linked.

what is the app called
My Disney Experience

Only one person needs the app and can take screenshots of the info to text out to the others in the group.

He would need a My Disney Experience account linked to his ticket. If he has that, he can book fastpasses whenever. If all the boys are connected on MDE, he could book fastpasses for the whole group. He needs to first ask about his ticket.

That makes sense. I wouldn't be surprised if coach has them all linked to his MDE account. He's a bit of a Disney fanatic-as am I. First time taking a team to Disney though. I'll give my son all the info and have him download the app so he can set it up if possible. They won't get tickets until they get there.

If none of that is possible for them to set up (not sure he's bringing his laptop), then they can use their magic bands at kiosks once in the park?

They're staying at CBR. Can any of this be done at resort. Setting up MDE and linking tickets if they haven't already been linked to coach's account? Can tickets be linked to more than one account?

He can do everything on the app, he doesn’t need his laptop.

If tickets are handed out on Thursday and not connected to any MDE at all, have him add his tickets and his friends’ tickets into his MDE account. Then he should book his FPs.

Some groups only use their MagicBands for room entry and use actual plastic tickets for park entrance and FP lines.

Last resort would be using the kiosks.

Thank you! I'll get him set up with an MDE account, get app on his phone, pass on this info, and hope for the best. Bunch of high school kids, they'll have fun!
