My son is leaving for Disney tomorrow with his high school cross country team-36 boys. We're from NY. Last years trip was cancelled due to Hurricane Matthew. Last year the coach had booked fastpasses for everyone (not quite as many boys). He hasn't said anything about them this year. So, if he hasn't booked fastpasses, I'm wondering what my son's options are. They'll get there Thursday late afternoon and will be running Friday, going to Downtown Disney Friday night, MK on Saturday, and Disney Studios on Sunday. Coming home Monday. I know it will be wicked crowded this weekend.
If there are no fastpasses already booked, once my son and his friends have their magic bands can they book fastpasses using the mobile app on Thursday night or Friday (assuming there are any left)? If so, what is the app called and I'll get him to download it to his phone? Will each kid he's with need to download app? They'll be allowed to be in the park in smaller groups so fps won't have to be for all 36. My son will probably be in a group of 5-8. If they can't book prior to entering park, where is best kiosk to go to once in park to try and get FPs?
Thanks for any help or tips I can give him. We haven't been to Disney since fp+ was started. Last trip was 2009.
