Hi Everyone,

Headed to Disney 5/18 and I'm still somewhat confused about the FastPass.
I read some posts that you can get more than one while others say you are only allowed to obtain one at a time.

Also are they only good for the alotted time or are you allowed to use them after?

If someone can please break down the fastpass method it would be extrememly helpful as my daughter is 4 beating the lines would really help.

When you get a fastpass, it will say "May return btw ::time:: and ::time::" the first time is the only one you need to worry about. Once it is past that time, say 10:00am, you can get into the FP line, even if it is 5pm.

On the bottom of the ticket it will say "You will be eligible for another fastpass at ::time::" That time will either be the same as your FP return time or two hours from when you got it, depending on which is sooner. This way, if you are there are rope drop, you can collect FP because the return times will be soon.

Get a Fastpass (if several are in your group, give all the park passes to one person to obtain at the machine ... make sure you have all the park passes returned before leaving)

Look at Fastpass ... it will give you a return time window & a time when you can get another Fastpass

Do not try to enter a Fastpass Return line until your return time comes ... Do not block the entrance while you are waiting. When you get in line, it is best for everyone to hold their own Fastpass (unless a toddler, of course). Try to return during your window .... however, it is certainly common for a CM to allow you to use it past your window (just not "policy").

The time to get another Fastpass will either be in 2 hrs OR when your return window opens, whichever comes first.

Example: You get a Fastpass at 8:00 am with a return for 12:00 noon, you will be able to get another Fastpass at 10:00 am (thus, you are "holding" two Fastpasses at the same time).

Just read what is written on the Fastpass ... all will be revealed!

Fastpasses are great, Last month we totally used them, everytime we could get one we did. We even did rope drop every morning which really helps. We got bonus fast passes at AK one day at rope drop, the CM"s must of spit some of the machine before we all got there, it was a awesome surprise!!!

Let's say you get there at 9am and standby is 20m and FP is set for 9:30. Go ahead and get the FP to ride later (anytime that day) and you'll be able to get your next FP at 9:30. We've had FP for 4 different rides and saved them until it was more crowded later in the evening.

Make a plan for what rides you can hit not on a fast pass while you are waiting for your next fast pass to become available.

Our morning routine works like this.

Arrive at Mk, not rope drop, but close to opening say 9:30ish. head to peter pan and get fast pass. We then go ride the carousel, snow white, goofey barnstormer, and tea cups. By this time, we are allowed to get another fast pass. So Leaving the tea cups, we get fast pass for pooh. Then go ride our peter pan.

leaving peter pan, we hit small world. Finally, we do the race cars before we ride our pooh.

Doing this, we are able to do all in fantasy land before noon, and never wait in a single line more than 5-10 mins. Many times they throw in an extra phillharmagic pass in the mornings.

I know this will change for our june trip because of all the construction. But you get the idea.

DSLRuser hit on it briefly, but you also need to know that sometimes (not always) you will get 2 Fast Passes when you're just trying to get 1. The 2nd Fast Pass will be for a different attraction and is just a bonus FP. It doesn't interfere with the time required before you can get another FP.

DSLRuser, you just inadvertently gave me a great touring template for our upcoming trip with DD3. I had been working on various combinations of attractions, but this is what I was looking for. Thanks. :thumbsup2

Completely true, but be aware the FP will not be accepted the next day. Many have tried, few (if any) have succeeded.

Here is my fast pass it's FWIW...

If you are getting into FP line for a major attraction at rope drop there will usually be lines. Long lines, at about 6-8 machines. We split up and each get in a line. Then when it becomes clear which line will move the fastest(because usually people have more then one card so there is no way to know which line is actually the shortest) the rest of us leave the line and give the closest person gets the FPs. Usually the person who thinks they are in the shortest line will have all of them, if that' s not the case that person just hands them to the actual closest person.

Really is it worth that much trouble?

To respond to the person who said you couldn't use them later in the week ....

You are right in that you "shouldn't" but, yes, I have been able to do this many times with no problems.

Trouble? Whats the difference between everyone watching one person get FPs and everyone getting line. Standing is actually no trouble to me.

At TSM it could mean 15 minutes. 10 minutes could mean the difference between a noon return time and a 4:00 return time. thats a huge difference.

Sure I could see it at TSM, makes sense. I usually get in front of the pack and I can get a general idea for which machine will be the best. By the time my family gets there I am done.

Here is a photo of our BTMRR Fastpasses from our 2008 trip.

You can see that the return time is between 11:45am and 12:45pm, but like other posters said, as long as you come back after 11:45 you are okay.
At the bottom (hard to read, sorry), it says "Another Fastpass Ticket will be available after 11:45am" - this means that you can get ANOTHER FP without having to use THIS one.

So if you get 1st FP for 9am, you can get a 2nd FP at 9am for 11am, then at 11am get your 3rd FP for 1pm, etc etc etc (all times are purple pigment figments of my imagination of course!)

THEN, when it's busy and everyone is waiting in a 60 minute line, you can stroll on in!

Does this help?

Another question- I 've heard that there are a few exceptions to the fastpass system, rides/shows that allow you to ge another fp right away. Are there any?
Or is this an urban legend:confused3

At WDW at least, there are no specific, guaranteed exceptions. In the past, the Jungle Cruise was frequently "disconnected", and for a while Lights Motors Action had the next FP time dialed all the way down.

LMA no longer has FP, and JC operates as normal when it is using FP at all.

thanks! I knew it was too good to be true. It was LMA that I was remembering. I wish they still had fp's. We haven't seen all of the shows at HS still after 3 trips- they all overlap!
